Great OLED set from SONY

The delivery was smooth and the guys placed it where I wanted. Unboxing was not an issue though it does require two people. You need help when attaching the feet as well. After that, it is a simple setup. I like the picture clarity and the amazing sound. It is sad that not much of the usual network/cable TV content is crisp. However, when watching movies and Netflix, you will realize the true potential of this set. Additionally, if you can find 4k content, you will be blown away. The remote is designed well however I do miss the sync button that lets you switch between external devices. I am very pleased with the purchase and hope that the set will last for a long time. I have been pleased with many Sony products I have owned over the years and optimistic that this will be the same experience.

I came from a Panasonic plasma then a couple Samsung QLEDs and a small Hisense QLED and dude... This TV blew me away from when I first powered it on. The infinite blacks and contrast ratio as well as the HDR on this set is superb. The motion is great. There's nothing on this set that I can complain about. Very accurate out of the box. This TV has bumped my movie watching and gaming to a whole other level. Thank you Sony for such an awesome product. If you're looking to step up to an OLED. Definitely splurge for the Sony and you will not be disappointed.

I’ve had a Pioneer KURO Plasma, Sony 930D LED, Sony A8F OLED, and the LG CX OLED. The CX had a good picture but cats and that pointer LG uses don’t mix. The user interface is great. This is the closest I’ve seen to the KURO in motion but that technology is dead. This panel gets plenty bright for me and I can see detail in shadows. Highly recommend this panel.

First OLED

When I moved to Florida 8 years ago I bought my first 4k 43 inches tv and that tv it is still standing and working so now the decision to purchase my first OLED was really easy but I did not know which one to go with, I wanted this one but it was too expensive but thanks to the Tv Gods they took 1000$ of this one, one week before the release which totally increase my decision. now the Television. the image is just gorgeous, you want to have your family pictures on a 77-inch screen displaying all day while not watching tv, connect your google account, and you are set. the movies and Netflix just amazing, my first OLED tv and Sony came to the rescue. You will not be disappointed.

The audio alone is worth the price

I seriously considered a Sony LED TV, the price difference was maybe $700 less and the LED had a surprisingly wide viewing angle. However, when I compared the audio, wow, this TV blows everything else away. No need for a sound bar! My old Samsung with a soundbar sounded terrible and the difference in sound levels between voices and guns or music was laughable, I was always turning the volume up and down. A+ service to the salesman for giving me a full demonstration including audio, he went out of his way to assist me. My only gripe is the remote is either weak or maybe the google TV is lagging or slow, I seem to be pushing the remote buttons twice for every scroll or enter, hopefully they just gave me weak batteries from new. It's bad enough I may ask for a new remote if fresh batteries doesn't fix it, Check out the pics, that cat looks real! And the clarity of OLED is undeniable, the facial hair on Trinity in Matrix 4 on HBO Max stands out like never before!

Coming from a Vizio p series quantum I can't believe the difference. The most amazing part is it's upscaling. Movies in just hd look better then any hdr movie I played on the Vizio. Took a minute to get used to it not being as bright as an led. I followed classy's videos on YouTube to make it a bit brighter and simply could not be happier. Treat yourself to spider man's far from home on the Bravia core app, easily the most impressive iMax movie they have. (quick tip, start the iMax movies then pause for a minute before playing. iMax requires 118mbit, and even with my 400 plus it would buffer and pause. Simply letting it paused for 1 minute took care of that and played without a single pause)

I do a lot of research before I pull the trigger. It literally took my wife saying, “I am tired of hearing about it, just buy it!” Before I actually made the purchase. I have not been disappointed. I purchased the 77” and with the help of my neighbor I mounted on my wall. The picture is amazing! Even my wife who doesn’t care about electronics commented about how good the picture looks. The tv sounds good as well, as long as you don’t care about bass. The tv lacks in that department, but if it bothers you, you can always buy a sound bar with a subwoofer. All and all I am very happy so far with my purchase.

You need to try the new Apple 4K tv box with it!!! Gorgeous. Dolby Vision looks superb! Have the first ever 4K Samsung TV that was released, still a great tv... but this Sony runs circles around it. The realism is and clarity is off the charts! Totally satisfied. Looked at all TVs available qn90a and others, to be honest there are all current TVs look great, so there are no “bad” decisions. But just loved this one. 83’ A90j is just one step above this one but again, I am truly satisfied.

I swore off expensive sets years ago, because I know they can break and is it really worth it in the end? So I’ve been buying low-end to middle of the road Hisense, TCL, or even a Sharp. Decent sets, all. But this Sony 77” OLED (that I’ve been eyeing for some time now) called my name as an open box. I couldn’t resist. Still a big hole in my wallet, but soooo worth it. The picture is as flawless as you can find. With a modest soundbar and back speakers, surround is rich and movie theatre-like. No complaints at all a couple of weeks in. Hoping it lasts a long time.

The two work together seamlessly. I would watch out for any bright lights that might reflect off the TV though. Sony's new XR processor brings 4k content to life. Sometimes, it's like looking through a window. The google tv UI is intuitive and smooth. The TV also makes full use of my Onkyo 7.1 THX system. It processes and outputs amazing sound. This tv is quality

A80J is the king OLED

After a little over a month of ownership I have not gotten bored of this TV because of every little thing from the quality to the sound of this masterpiece thats not even a master series model its just absolutely wonderful. The MSRP price is $3,499 but with BestBuy’s great sale with 500 bucks off leaving it at $2,999, I purchased this TV and I am confident enough to say that this is the best purchase I have ever made.

I have to say this is one of their top TVs in this price range. I had purchased an LG OLED and sent it back for this one. I like the LG C1 a lot. But wanted a 77 inch. Side by side the LG was brighter. The Sony has a softer richer picture. But There are other formats to make it brighter. Out of the box it’s stunning. Play around with the settings. See what you like for your taste and room lighting . Would have liked to bought the next step up but too big and too much $ for me.

Best Picture Quality from a TV I've Ever Had

The motion is excellent - a big step up from my A9G. This TV gets very bright in HDR/Dolby Vision content - an even bigger step up from my A9G, and I bet, probably pretty close to an A90J. The interface is excellent - I love google tv, I love how Sony lays out it's settings and picture controls, overall awesome. My panel does have some magenta around the edges, and top right-hand corner in certain scenes and the bottom left corner has a cyan tint. Aside from the minor panel defects, this TV is excellent! I love the remote - four great shortcut buttons.

This model though just blows my mind! I have full google and nest accessories and this just fits right into my home with built in google home. Pictures incredible, not the best if you have direct light due to OLED but thats anticipated. Sounds great too but the Sony sound bars push it to next level.

A bit pricey but you'll see the difference!

Speakers are decent. Knowing that most TV built in speakers are average at best, these are above average as you can play them at a high setting without distortion. With that said, you would probably get more out of the TV with a quality surround sound system. I like the fact that you can connect to Google or Alexa and use voice commands! One downside (but not a huge issue) is glare. I the tv is in a bright room or near a window/door, you can see a reflection (See pictures). Picture is perfect in a dark room. Would have given 5 stars if not for glare.

Sony TVs look the best in the darkest environment possible, so it's a good idea to turn off all lighting sources if you really want the best viewing experience. For best picture quality, we do not recommend exposing the screen to direct illumination or sunlight and installing the TV in a room with a reflective wall and floor materials. You can always adjust the picture and brightness setting of the TV for any glare concerns

Superb Picture

The onscreen setup procedure walks you through connecting to input sources and the internet and the built-in speakers are clear with good fidelity. I have been viewing multiple shows from cable and streaming sources on the TV for about a month and the picture is still a little too "blue" for my taste but I will wait a couple months before I attempt any adjustments to the color and hue. The sharpness and depiction of black is superb. Much better than anything I've seen from the other OLED and QLED smart TVs. I'm glad I waited to replace my Panasonic Plasma TV until Sony came out with this line of OLED Smart TVs.
