Anyone hesitate going to Sony's mirrorless: don't. There's a reason why this camera is sold out everywhere. There's a lot of raves about this camera. When Sony came up with NEX 7 more than 5 years ago, it was a head turner in terms of design and image quality. A really small camera can produce image and 1080p video that is good if not better than other APS-C cameras of its generation. The A7 series live up to the expectation with one important upgrade: full frame sensor. Coming to the third iteration of the A7 series, Sony not just give you the best bang for the buck it is now already a mature system with full options of lens line up and accessories. Compare that to Nikon and Canon, they are just becoming more serious in the mirrorless game. But the true and tried is Sony and the camera for the general purpose shooting is the Sony A7 iii. The camera feels and looks good. It is a solid camera in terms of design and portability. Image quality is great, enjoy it with your 4K screen so you can realize how good it is. Noise control, sharpness and color is pleasing. Dynamic range is great, the camera is able to capture some really complex lighting conditions. Low light performance is great, will likely to turn heads of Canon 5D series owners. High ISO feels useful not just some gimmicks though you may want to limit shooting above iso 6400. Menu customization is great and well structured. Compatibility to Sony A-mount lens is available through a separate mount adapter and it works great although you're going to waste the A7 iii auto focus system by using the adapter's AF system. Kit lens is not bad. It is actually good for the money. If you compare it with the Zeiss F/4 lens of the same focal length, you will appreciate your kit lens more as there are not a few people keeping their kit lens rather than getting the Zeiss lens due to insignificant image quality differences between these lenses. Video quality is also great and options for great video lens are there. You can buy cheaper APS-C power zoom lens, which works great for A7 iii video. No 4K 60fps but that is okay because that is the standard 4K framerate nowadays. Video is still limited to not exceed 30 minutes per clip. Built-in microphone is okay but most people will eventually use external mic anyway if they are serious about their video. One feature that no Canon and Nikon give you even with their newest mirrorless camera that they just announced: dual slot cards. This gives you another layer of security so you know that your image will not get corrupted due to some memory card error. You can also assign the first slot to take JPEG and the second slot to take RAW. Transferring image from camera to computer and even to smartphones are easy. The app works well. For those of you who consider getting the A7R iii or A7 iii, the former does give you more resolution. If you have tons of APSC E mount lens, it does more make sense to get the A7R iii because the A7 iii will automatically crop your image to 10mpix while A7Riii will give you several more mpix. When you come to think of it, even with the cropped 10mpix image that can make good quality A4 size prints. A7 III is a good investment that will last you years.

Price and Features just had a baby!

I purchased the last generation A7ii back in 2015 and loved the camera. Not because it was perfect but rather because I saw where it was going and its potential. Coming fronm the Canon 6D, everything was just smaller, the feature set was more robust, and I knew that mirrorless was the future of photography so I decided to become an early adopter. The biggest issues I had with the A7ii model was the slow autofocus speeds as compared to the A7Rii, the lack of continuous eye autofocus, and a single memory card slot. Sure, there were a few minor others, but nothing that I couldn't live with. Fast forward three years to the announcement of the A7iii; Sony literally fixed EVERY problem I had with the a7ii...and then some. Is this a perfect camera? No, that doesn't exist. Is it close to the perfect camera for me? Yes, indeed! I don't need the 42 megapixels of the A7Riii. I don't need the low-light capabilities of the soon-to-be-released A7Siii. The A9 is a great camera but the benefits of the superior buffer speeds and frames per second just don't warrant the $4K price tag, for my use. The A7iii is the sweet spot between them all! The autofocus system was borrowed from the A9 and is super fast and reliable. It now has two memory card slots making event photography more of an option than in the previous generations. It now has continuous eye autofocus. Its like Sony was with me through every gripe and complaint of the A7ii. The price point is just right, the feature set beats all competitors in its class, and it makes shooting fun. With the addition of the previously missing feature sets, I can now spend more time taking photos and focusing in on composition and creativity. I love it! Now, the bad. The electronic view finder (EVF) is a bit worse than the A7ii's EVF. it was noticeable at first glance but not a deal breaker. The buffer won't clear as fast as the A9 making the silent shooting mode a moot point in LED lighting (due to banding issues) and the resolution is almost half of what is possible on the A7Riii. And...that's all! Literally. I cannot find any other reason to give pause to purchasing this camera. So much so that I bought a second one as a backup for my event photography. With that said, why are you still here reading this!?! Go buy the A7iii and get out there and start taking great photos. Happy shooting my friend!

I am a beginning photographer and videographer who has owned the Sony a7iii for about one month. I found this camera to be fairly easy to familiarize myself with and it can take very clean pictures, even with the kit lens it comes with! It has a lot of nice features for a variety of photography styles. I believe this camera is more than enough for most individuals wanting to start out or even intermediate to advanced individuals.

This Full frame mirrorless camera is easy to use and follows a similar menu like other alpha series Sony mirrorless cameras. Images are spectacular and functionality is everything you would need in one camera. The battery life is absolutely amazing. It’s a far superior battery and many other cameras in the same class. This camera is fantastic but I strongly suggest to get good lens. You will notice the difference between a quality lens and an average lens.

The auto focus is quick and crisp, the photos are clear and sharp, and the price is right for all the features and functionality contained in this hybrid camera. The new A7 IV, in particular, takes things a step further with 33 megapixels, offering higher resolution and exceptional clarity. The color reproduction is natural and true-to-life, and the camera handles high-contrast scenes beautifully, making it a great tool for landscape, portrait, and event photography.

I recently purchased the Sony A7iii for the Black Friday Sale along with an extra lens and I'm thoroughly impressed with its performance. The image quality is fantastic, with sharp details and vibrant colors. I've used it in various lighting conditions and it consistently delivers great results. The autofocus is fast and accurate, making it easy to capture crisp images, even of moving subjects. Its ergonomic design also makes it comfortable to use for extended periods. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the A7iii and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and high-quality camera. You truly get what you pay for. No need to move up to the A7IV honestly.

I've had the camera for just over a year and I can easily say its the best camera I've ever owned. It takes great photos and has a lot of additional functionality, most of which I haven't even begun to use. The kit lens is decent bearing in mind its just a kit lens, but you will want to buy at least another lens to get the full potential out of this camera. Its great, but is far from perfect. The battery life isn't great, especially with the screen on - you will need to buy a battery grip or multiple extra batteries. The wifi transfer is handy, but can be a little temperamental. The main control ring moves a little to easily for my liking, as I've accidentally changed the setting so many times. It doesn't have the most intuitive menu system / controls. The low light performance is quite impressive. All round super solid camera.

I am a Photography Prosumer, I do a couple of shoots a year, but its more of hobby than a career. With that said, I am still happy with this camera, I bought it in 2021 and instantly was amazed at the video quality it can produce as well as the images... with the right glass (lens). The kit lens is almost criminal in that it does not show off what this camera is capable of at all, but it is a starting point. Id recommend getting a good prime to start, and enjoy the still impressive auto focus, speed, and image quality coming out of 2018's finest. I shot with Canons previously, their menus make more sense, and the colors rendered are more vivid, but aside from old EF lenses, Sony third party lenses are far more affordable. I have more glass for less money for the Sony than I did for my canons in all of my years of ownership.

Love this camera! I decided to go with this camera after having a Canon t7 and I have to say from those two this is a huge jump! but so is the price! The kit lens that comes with this is a big increase from what you get with canon and I have a nifty fifty 1.8 for canon so it even jumps the gun with a sharpness to beat that! Over the Camera its self is amazing AF is amazing, the picture quality is amazing, videos are amazing! I am still learning it but I've gotten most of it down id say the menu is pretty bad but luckily you can set favorite settings you often go to! Also once you set most of the settings from the gecko you are pretty much set from then on 24mp is nice and the noise is really decent, however, I do feel personally I would rather wait for a sale to happen again for the A7 3 R with its higher mp count but if you're just wanting a camera now and have the money for it this is a great buy!

Excellent camera. The quality is amazing for photos. Good hybrid because it also takes amazing videos. Have been in the making of a film and its impressive. Only one complaint is that it can tend to have a CPI format at times, but its still great and esay to work with. Its not too complicated to learn if you already know the basic of using a camera (youtube tutorials also help a lot)
