This is the best hybrid camera Sony has put out, and a good entry point for pros and serious enthusiasts. The upgrade to 33 megapixels gives me room to do more with my images, and a lot of the the video features from the A7sIII/fx3 (which I also own) have made their way to this body too. Speaking of the body, this camera is almost identical to the A7SIII and that is a marked improvement over the A7III.

The vastly improved menu system is faster, clearer, and customizable, eliminating the frustration of the old layout while making daily shooting far more efficient and intuitive.

The EFCS and full-electronic shutters have completely enhanced wildlife and high-shutterspeed photos (hummingbirds, my gosh, just pop): using them effectively has become a new job for me, but I relish it. The mechanical shutter is very similar to the II, so all that muscle-memory is still valid. Video is greatly enhanced and the new viewfinder with touch-based AF tracking is really splendid. Couldn't be happier. Well, more megapixels will always make me happier, but still. :)

I've had the A7 III for a few years now and was looking to upgrade. The A7 series of camera's has been good but the A7 III made them a great buy at that price point. The IV continues this with offering amazing features found in much more expensive cameras while keeping cost at a reasonable point. If you are a studio photographer go for the R, if you shoot video go for the S, if sports are your thing or you want the best of the best, you can go with the A9 II or A1. But if you need a great all around performer that may not be the absolute best at anything but very good at everything, this is the one to get.

Very high quality with the usual Sony attention to detail. If you are new to digital photography, it can be a bit overwhelming with all the available settings, but if you have the time to learn this camera you won’t be disappointed. For an excellent web site with a great amount of information about this camera and the lenses and accessories you can get for it, watch the You Tube videos but Sony Ambassador Mark Galer. You can visit his web site as well for manuals and training.

I had upgraded from the alpha 7ii to this camera, it was one of the best decisions i have ever made. It is much faster compared to the older model. Overall, I would recommend and happy with the performance.
