I hope you choose this camera it maybe the last one you buy for a long time, it’s that good.

Any Sony a series is pretty great

I opted for the Sony a7rV since I wanted more of a photo camera with higher MP. But this would be an amazing starter camera as well if you have the money.

I do have the eye AF issue that others are experiencing and hoping that Sony releases a firmware to fix it. Other than that the camera is awesome. At this time, I wouldn’t recommend this camera until there is a fix from Sony.

We have confirmed that objects in front of the eyes such as eyebrows, eyelashes, and the subject's nose may be in focus instead of the eyes. We are studying this behavior and working to improve the accuracy of the Real-time Eye AF function. Don't hesitate to contact us periodically for a status update regarding any improvement measures. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience and feedback. Steps to improve performance
• In low light situations, increase the depth of field by stepping the F-stop value up to a higher setting.
• For example, move from the lowest settings of F1.2, F1.4, and F1.8 to F2.8,F3.5, or F4.
