Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Was a Canon owner for years,my last DSLR was the Canon 5D Mark IV,it was my favorite camera before switching to mirrorless.It was a tough decision on letting go of my MDIV,but since i got my Sony A7 IV,it was a worth every penny upgrade.First mirrorless and i was impressed,the 700+ AF points vs 69 on my Canon was my selling point,the image quality was stunning,it’s lightweight body is also a big decision,easy to carry on overseas trips.I only buy Sony tv’s but this is the first time i bought a Sony camera and i surely no regret.It’s a keeper! I’m just a hobbyist photographer,mostly family photos,wildlife and landscapes.Thank you Sony!

I had upgraded from the alpha 7ii to this camera, it was one of the best decisions i have ever made. It is much faster compared to the older model. Overall, I would recommend and happy with the performance.

This is the best hybrid camera Sony has put out, and a good entry point for pros and serious enthusiasts. The upgrade to 33 megapixels gives me room to do more with my images, and a lot of the the video features from the A7sIII/fx3 (which I also own) have made their way to this body too. Speaking of the body, this camera is almost identical to the A7SIII and that is a marked improvement over the A7III.

Great camera

Use my A7RV for most everything but this A7IV is a little better at a few things. My shutter broke and Sony fixed it under warranty within a week.

Amazing images (33MP) and 4K video in high dynamic range format. It’s an amazing hybrid camera with stunning photography and video features. I’d say almost the perfect camera.

Very high quality with the usual Sony attention to detail. If you are new to digital photography, it can be a bit overwhelming with all the available settings, but if you have the time to learn this camera you won’t be disappointed. For an excellent web site with a great amount of information about this camera and the lenses and accessories you can get for it, watch the You Tube videos but Sony Ambassador Mark Galer. You can visit his web site as well for manuals and training.

Great Camera

The EFCS and full-electronic shutters have completely enhanced wildlife and high-shutterspeed photos (hummingbirds, my gosh, just pop): using them effectively has become a new job for me, but I relish it. The mechanical shutter is very similar to the II, so all that muscle-memory is still valid. Video is greatly enhanced and the new viewfinder with touch-based AF tracking is really splendid. Couldn't be happier. Well, more megapixels will always make me happier, but still. :)
