It blows my A7rii out da water! 10fps is fast enough for me. Battery life last way longer than my A7rii! Auto focus is also improved... VERY FAST! So glad i upgraded!

I purchased this camera on sale and I am loving it! I upgraded from a Sony a6400 because I needed the extra 43 Megapixel resolution, stabilization and low light performance. This camera feels good on on my hands and balances well with any lens I have tried. The photos it takes are superb and it has all my customers raving. I recently did my first wedding with this camera and it performed admirably paired with the Tamron 28-75mm and the Sigma 35mm. I was able to take crisp photos inside the church and on the dark dance floor (using a flash). I was able to do the whole wedding without a tripod! The feature it has to write on 2 memory cards simultaneously is a huge plus since you are creating a back up of your files on the fly. It can shoot 10 frames per second which is perfect. I actually turned it down a bit because the uncompressed RAW files are about 45 MB each. I found that using a 3 to 5 photo burst will suffice. I shot roughly 3,000 photos on my first wedding and it equaled 100 GB. If you are buying this camera, this is a tool to make money! I am now shooting my second wedding and I am going to pair it with the Sony 135mm for some game changing photos! From paintball to weddings and nature, this camera can do it all and is the perfect fit for me.

    Favored mirrorless camera

I have no issues with this mirrorless camera. My first camera I took with me for my trip to Washington, D.C. was a Sony Nex-6 and the exterior build quality of Sony's cameras is very useful and easy to use. The Sony Alpha A7R III takes vastly superior photos to my phone and as an intermediate user I think the interface could be easier but overall as a mirrorless digital camera I will use as my primary camera it is very good. Sony's original founder was always enamored with Hollywood and their exterior build quality as well as their digital sensors shows me as a consumer how far they loved to innovate and experiment with digital camera technology and the design of the photography products is very useful for an intermediate photographer.

This is super quick, very fast focus and is good for low light. It’s perfect if you want to blow pictures up on canvas due to it’s 54 megapixel. It’s great for video but not as many features like the a7sii. I done lots of video with it though its great for both pics & video.

I chose this over the A7RIV, mainly because I didnt see a big difference between the two. Of course there are upgrades, but I didnt need all those megapixels for large files, and I didnt feel like it there were significant differences between the III and IV like there were between the II and III. I chose the R series because I have already had the 10-18mm wide angle from my prior apsc sony, and I read that it would work better on the RIII than the III. Overall I love this camera. First time getting into full frame. Not a professional by a long shot, just wanted some quality gear for everyday photography and travel. I already have a DSLR, however you just can't beat the portability of a mirror less. First lens with it is the tamron 28-70 f2.8, and pictures come out beautifully. If you're getting into the mirror less game now, I'd recommend starting with an apsc so you can familiarize yourself with it. Also research all the other brands. I got into mirrorless cameras back in 2015, and there was a limited market. There are so much more options available to choose from now.

After having the A6500 for a couple of months, I decided to upgrade to the a7riii. Immediately told myself that I should’ve purchased this from the get go. Although bigger and heavier than the APS-C, the controls, features and ergonomics are a lot better for me. The battery life is a plus as well. I also like the full frame images it produces.

If you are serious about landscape/cityscape/portrait photography this is the one. I started with an A7II and the A7RIII addressed every limitation of that still great body. Dual SD card slots, 42MP resolution, superior focus, 2X plus battery life, etc. it’s all there. If you can upgrade, do it. You won’t be disappointed.

    best mirrorless camera of 2017

They don't call it the best mirrorless camera of 2017 for nothing. It was only available for preorder in store and it came a week later, earlier then expected but I wasn't notified that it already arrived till two days after it had arrived at the store. The staff at best buy was pretty clueless of what the thing was since the name was cut off at mirror, so when I called and asked about it they were looking for a mirror or something. But the camera is great, as described. I shoot professionally, mostly video and photos with this camera.

I'm a wedding photographer, and having reliable fast cameras, is a must for me! I love the color output, and how light they are. I honestly just can't see myself switching brands. I used to own the Sony a7rii, and they Sony a7r3, definitely beats it! I now own two Sony a7r3! I truly love this camera so much!

As a person who normally runs a Phase One IQ system I am honestly super impressed with this performance of this system. The quality of the output can rival a camera system that retails for 10X the price under many circumstances. The menu system is a little less than satisfactory but it could definitely be worse.
