Works well 90% of the time. Reasonable price.

Two cons are: 1. Overly soft and smeared picture if you have the function that smooths images turned on. I suggest to leave it off or your picture looses all details. It is like all overly processed photos look on smart phones nowadays (e.g iPhone XR / XS, ETC). 2. Some Blu-ray’ disc causes the player to freeze. Might be the lack of update of firmware for the latest format but select “read hybrid dvd” function to read as a regular dvd will solve this. Disc might still freeze in the middle of play for a second or so randomly but not too bad. Sony needs to keep up with current formats. I tossed out my old Samsung player as they don’t make players anymore and don’t bother to update firmware but Sony does and is in the movie business so I expected them to update... well... we’ll see.

I had no problems and it doesn't lose connection while I'm watching Netflix or YouTube. I would definitely recommend this Blu-ray. I was exactly what it was looking for.

My Mother-in Law Loved This

I am now her favorite son in law. I installed it for her and set up NetFlix. It was easy. The wireless setup worked perfectly. I brought cables if needed for the network but it was not needed.

Sony Blu-ray Player with Internet apps

This unit is very cost-effective and the company even does firmware updates! They also include DLNA features if you still have a multimedia home network that uses it. Cool Runnin'.
