The 1st time there was an open box item mixed in with the new items. Unknown to me the unit I grabbed was the open box unit which was missing remotes and manual. The second time back to the store, I was able to get a new unit. The new unit works great

There were some strange compatibility issues that I was only able to resolve after I called Samsung tech support. Player works great on 2 other TVs that are a couple years old. I would recommend buying a Samsung device if I planned on using this player with a higher end model tv but for normal model TVs it works just fine.
