Unfortunately, I'm experiencing the same issue with this one while using the smart features. The only way to fix it is to unplug it. That being said, playback is fine and I like streaming movies via it rather than my tv app. I'm not sure if I will keep it or return it at this time.

Apparently you only need one device upscaling. We only found this out after we went to our local Best Buy for help. Original Best Buy store that we bought from had misinformed us. Here's hoping the Sony, UBP-X700/M does the job.

Video output not compatible with some Home Theater switches. Note that it asks you to sign in on the network for every new app you try. Compared to other brands gets OEM updates that keep it working.

I often have to press the apps two or three times before navigation begins, and it continually loses the wifi connection, when I initially turn on the device. Once the streaming has begun, I have not had buffering problems.
