Great BluRay/DVD quality. A little trouble streaming from the apps. Trying to Bluetooth to speaker and streaming from an app at the same time can be conflicting.

The cartridges run out quite rapidly despite my being an occasional user.

The only reason this gets a 1 is the Best Buy customer service in store and the fact that it did work, but certainly not as described. I read the specifications and it states very clearly it has a 4K UHD blu ray drive. Sure when you do further research you can find it does not play 4K but this is incredibly misleading to the consumer and was a complete waste of my time. If you’re looking for a 4K UHD Player, the Sony X700 does. Let’s hope that works, although I had to spend $20 more for an eBay purchase because this unit is $175 at best buy

Not a bad player and the smart functionality is useful. The remote isn’t very good and the power on indicator light is difficult to notice.

This is the single worst component I have ever purchased. It constantly resets itself. It has a very limited range of apps available for streaming services. Sony should know better than to put their name on a piece of junk like this.

Bought from store . Unboxed it and it had a large dent in the top. Plugged it in works fine. Had to get better hdmi ford for it to work even better.

Worked great at first but has started freezing up occasionally and has to be unplugged and plugged back in.

From day one after the limited return policy from BB, this piece of junk has froze and failed over and over. I put in a disc, it starts humming, and goes off to never-never land. The buttons on the unit don't affect it, the remote doesn't affect it. The only way to get it to stop is to pull the power cable. Sometimes after plugging it back in it freezes again. Sometimes it freezes up after hitting the home button to exit Amazon Prime so that I can go into YouTube. The most frustrating piece of equipment I have ever owned. The only reason I put up with it is this long is I hate losing that much money for anything. But as of today, its going in the trash. And, after reading other reviews (with same issues) no more Sony for me.

This is just a regular blu ray player. I thought i was buying an actual 4k dvd player and even bought 3 or 4 different movies to watch that are 4k format. Tried playing them and they didnt work. Very upset about this. And of course i cant return it

Worked for 2 months no problem. Had it in the exact same position and then the player stopped opening the disc tray. Did not matter if I hit the eject button on the remote or player itself. Purchased this because it was the cheapest 4K Upscale in Best Buy and truly got what I paid for

Not very smart. Needs to be plugged in for internet and Netflix refuses to load. Bought it 2 years ago replaced it 20 months ago

I paired this with my LG 60" 4K TV. I have Spectrum and programmed the remote to be able to operate all devices. Every time I turn on the system the Blu Ray player forces the TV to switch to HDMI 2 for the Blu Ray player. Since the response to turn off and on is very slow it takes forever to get it to turn off .i just unplugged it and only plug it in if I want to watch a movie. Would not buy this product or Sony BRP again.

Bought this player before Christmas with a 4k tv so I could upscale my blu ray collection. Works great for upscaling! UNFORTUNATELY, I didn't get a chance to try a 4k hdr disc within the return policy. Turns out the player doesn't PLAY 4k discs. I assume I have a DUD but now I have a piece of trash and will have to get a new player and this time I will buy geek squad coverage and i will make sure it's a different brand.

Very disappointed. Continuously locks up on shut down, have to unplug it to restart. After less than a month the DVD/Blueray disc mechanism started grinding loudly when a disc is inserted. less than a week past "return" date, wish I would have chosen a different model. Sony is usually top notch, this item is cheap and low quality.

I purchased a open box unit that was listed as excellent condition. it arrived promptly. it would not play any disc.. disc not found was the message, the disc also would not eject, it would come out half way and get stuck. Crappy quality control from their repair group, I will never buy a open box item from Best Buy again .

I’m an old timer and didn’t know about ultra until it was too late after I received this upscaler, this model is good but its not true 4K, hopefully you read this an are informed there is ultra blue ray. I live too far away from Best Buy to return it, I bought it online and there was nothing in the add describing the superior ultra blue ray player

I don't use it for streaming, I only play movies. It work's good for playing movies.

We use this Blu-ray player for streaming in addition to viewing blu-rays. Access to a multitude of streaming apps.

Inexpensive Sony Blu-ray Player...Pretty basic unit...Disc Drawer, at times, doesn’t open properly...You get what you buy!

Does what I need it to do. Does not stay connected to the Wifi though so I have to reconnect it every time I want to use it to stream with.
