Disappointed, played dvds but wouldn't play my blu rays

I would say that this is the best bluray player in market now. I have SAMSUNG BDJ-7500 & SONY BDP-S7200. Sony players are know to have freezing issues with Amazon Video and also takes about 2 minutes to get full HD. But this player is not so. No more freezing at all. Takes around 30 seconds to get full HD. Improved in every aspect. I use VUDU & NETLFIX also and the quality is very good compared to my other Samsung & Sony players. It is highly recommended to all.

Geek squad arrived with player. Couldn’t use as door was broken out of the box. I had to personally take it back to Best Buy, order another and personally pick it up. Feel this should not have been my responsibility as I paid for a functional piece of equipment.

I recently purchased (at Best Buy) a new tv and home theater sound system replacing a worn out failing one and my old blue-ray player needed replacing a long time ago. I saw this one and researched about it and trusted Sony as being a good product so when I saw this one for the price it was going for, the choice was easy. It works really well. As a Best Buy Plus member, got an even better deal on this item. I also purchased a uhd-HDMI cable as well to get the most out the UHD tv and DVD features (I would recommend getting one). I had an old cable but it surely wasn’t up to par. Everything plays - regular DVD (upscaled), blue-ray, 4k ultra high def dvd, blue-ray 3-D, cds on this player. It also doubles as a steaming device with the built - in WiFi and has one touch access to certain popular streaming services pay and free. I’m completely happy with it and have seen others costing more but frankly, I can’t imagine why, they honestly aren’t any better and are not worth the extra money. This is a good buy and getting it from Best Buy is a plus.

would not play my Blu-Ray DVD'S !!! What was also needed but not on the back of the unit that I needed in my application.

Great value for the price. Plays all my blu-ray, DVD's with no issues. The picture quality is excellent and the setup was extremely easy. Would definitely recommend!

What a tremendous disappointment, It’s six months and it’s not working anymore.

Bought this for its 3d bluray capability. It does that beautifully, but the built in apps are super slow and laggy. Recomend using this to play discs and just get a roku for the streaming stuff.

It's not the latest tech as of 2024, but it plays dvds and Blu-ray well and looks good on a 4k tv.

Best buy for the money. Worked as soon as I set it up and was easy to hook up.

Works great. Excellent picture and easy set up. I buy all my electronics from Best Buy and never had a problem.

Much smaller and compact than older players. Quiet and boots up quickly. Upscales older discs well

Bought this based on all the good reviews and it does not disappoint. Really needed it to replace a media player to stream video, music, and picture files off my NAS and other apps. It does that very well, is quick to load, and plays all types of files you throw at it (MKV, MOV, MP4, MP3, JPG, etc). The one and only problem with movie files is that the DLNA software does not allow you to separately select subtitle files (i.e. SRT files). So if you watch foreign movies, the subs have to be embedded in the file. Other than that it is a perfect media streaming device with a blu-ray drive as a bonus!

13 days in the dvd would not eject. Hammer and chisel time....

I have an LG oled Cx and the picture looks fantastic, I bought a 4k bluray player and some 4k discs. They looked great, but I noticed that when I got just this sony Upscaling player, regular blurays looked just as good as the 4k bluray player! Not saying 4k is a scam, but this player makes my regular blurays looks just as good as 4k. So save your money and get this player and five your blurays a new lease on life. No need to buy actual 4k discs anymore.

I was really excited to find a player that sends Bluetooth audio, most only receive. I wanted a player for my bedroom where I can watch movies quitely without losing quality in sound. I have it connected to a klipsch r4 sound bar that I place right behind my head board and works well. My only complaint with the Bluetooth audio is you have to manually connect instead of instantly, this could also be an issue with the sound bar. Complaints; Internet/ Wifi: It does not automatically connect to the internet. Every time you choose an app it goes through 3 steps to connect via Wifi and then takes you back to the home page, and then you have to select the app you want to use again. Which can be quite annoying, what was the point of choosing the app in the first place. Not only that, but if you are watching Netflix and then decide to go on Amazon it will also go through 3 steps to connect to the internet and then take you back to the home page to which you have to Choose Amazon again. In other words it doesn’t stay connected to WiFi while using it and going from one app to the other you have to reconnect and go through the process I explained earlier. Apps/Market : There isn’t a market, every app that is available to use comes automatically with the unit. It can be a good thing but also annoying. Mainly because you have to scroll through everything to find an app that you would like to use, not to mention there isn’t a search option so you have to manually go through each app to find the one you want. Buttons/remote: There is a lot of lag while using the remote to choose a feature. Eventually the cursor catches up and just zooms all over the screen. Overall: Great picture and the Bluetooth audio make it great. Connection and lagging,and overload of apps without a search engine are what causes this unit to lose 2.5 stars. I should say, Bluetooth is the only reason I give it 2.5.

Small player with lots of value. No…this is not a thousand dollar player, that does a million things, however if you want a blu-ray player with a great picture at a great price this is the one. Quick and easy to set up and use. That’s all I wanted and it does just that.
