Picture quality is good even though it is based on the actual DVD not the TV used to play it. The DVD player itself has an "upscaling" feature that makes the picture quality somewhat better. The remote is kind of small and you need to be careful with which keys you hit. I am satisfied with my purchase.

However, there is no ability for slow motion or point A to B repeat function. Also, it's the only player whose IR remote function is same as some cable boxes. Really frustrating! I since covered up the IR sensor. Sony blames cable box. Cable folks blame Sony since it's only Sony with this problem. Steaming apps more limited than most. I'm past my ridiculous 15 days with Best Buy, so I can't return it. Looking for another player.
