It does both very well, I am very pleased with this purchase. Very easy to use, you can put your favorite apps on start screen so no need to hunt for them. I plays off our htpc flawlessly and was very easy to hook up to our network. Have had it for over a month and no problems. Very easy to watch netflix on too, just what I was looking for.

Yea samsung is not the king of blu Ray players. Best buy informed us that Sony was the pioneer of blu Ray so pretty much every one else uses their blueprint. Anyways, this player does the job I use it for my daughters room just in case she wants to use it or when she has friends over. It has an option to stay on standby so you never have to wait for the apps to load but even when you don't use that mode the apps load up pretty quickly. Great for the price.

This unit had all our desired features. It was simple to set up, connect to our wi-fi, and sign in to our accounts on the various apps we use. We have had it for over a year now and it has worked very, very well.

I was amazed at the quality of the picture—it was so detailed and clear. The player was very easy to set-up. (I am usually challenged when it comes to electronics.) It is compact and easy to move (if you want to attached it to an alternative TV). Very happy with this purchase.
