cant go wrong for the money, play good nice picture

I just removed from box, plugged in necessary devices and was ready to go. Update took all of 10 minutes if that. Amazed at ease of use and the amount of apps that are available.

Initially when I brought this home it wouldn't stay connected to the internet-so I returned it and got another one. Well that one did the same thing-however when I took it upstairs it worked great and when I took it to my moms it worked great, so for whatever reason the first placement didn't work. The Best Buy sales person said that sometimes the antenna has to be placed in a certain way. It is small and has many apps and of course the DVD player works well. I would recommend , but if you run into the same problem above as I did the just try a different location. (-:

Definitely an upgrade over my previous LG smart Blu Ray player. Love that this gets the WWE network, and the remote has a Netflix button and a custom favorites button to create a shortcut for your favorite application. Have had no issues with the wifi on this product either.

It works very well and it has everything I need: Netflix, Hulu Plus, Pandora, Youtube, and of course, the blue ray player itself.l. The only thing I dislike, which I'm not sure other blue ray players can offer, is that I wish you could easily download apps. You cannot do that on this device. The Sony store is very limited.

This was recommended by the sales associate at BEST BUY because it not only plays DVDs but it allows me to connect to my internet and directly play my netflix movies. The remote for this product is helpful and easy to use. I liked it because I was able to directly connect to my television with a cable into the HDMI slot.

I bought a Insigna HDTV and it doesn't have SMART TV option. So I decided to buy Sony Blu-ray player to connect to Internet. It comes pre-loaded with lot of apps like Netflix, YouTube, Yupp TV etc. So I am converted my normal TV to SMART TV using this Blu-ray player.

Make sure to do the updates, which requires a wired internet connection. It seems like I have to configure networking every time I turn it on. I have it connected to both wireless and wired. Other than the networking issue, which could be user error, I love this device. All the streaming apps a person could want and more.

This inexpensive Blu-ray player was easy to set up. It has a lot of options for viewing various media such as: Amazon Prime, Hulu, Netflix, etc.. Thankfully, these options do not get in the way of just regular play of the Blu-ray. The quality of the picture is very good.

Not only does it play CD/DVD/Blu-ray discs, but it also projects websites such as youtube and Netflix onto the TV, freeing up my laptop. Typing in searches using the on screen alphabet and the remote is cumbersome, but it gets the job done. I can use my tablet or smartphone instead (really easy to pair the devices).

SONY IS THE BEST.Great Blueray Player. Streaming works better than my smart tv. Get one for your non smart tv, and you will have a SMART TV, for less! Got it on sale! WORKS GREAT. YOU CAN'T LOSE. Get a SONY!

This is the 2nd Sony blu-ray player I've ever purchased and overall I am quite happy with it. It plays discs just fine, has strong wireless signal, and has Web apps for what I use (Youtube, Netflix, Hulu, WWE Network ect.) It also does a great job playing media off of external storage with lots of different codecs to cover your various file types. The unit is responsive in that it has yet to freeze on me and powers on and off without issue. I have take off a star for two reasons though. Reason one is Screen Mirroring. It's a heavily advertised feature that is becoming more and more common in devices but it just doesn't work on this player. I've tried multiple devices and either always get a connection error or get disconnected after less than a minute. The second issue is that when loading Youtube videos there is usually 1 to 4 seconds where the audio of the video will start to play but the screen will be black. This can be really annoying especially with short videos. All things considered though this is a very solid player for the price and should cover most people's needs.

I originally didn't like the fact that it only would connect to the HDMI interface, since I was using that for Google Chrome, but it turns out that the streaming features make the Google Chrome redundant.

This is a great way to get the features of a smart TV without having to pay extra for that kind of TV. It's a great value for being able to watch your blu-rays as well as being able to stream Netflix etc.

Very pleased with the Sony Blu-ray Disc/DVD Player. It makes the perfect combo with the Sharp 32" TV for our bedroom. A Best Buy's employee recommended both for our needs. He was right on. Priced right also.

If you are looking for small and smart Blu-ray player take this one. Sony equipped it with nice software and hardware. It works very fast and reliable in my WI FI networks, Netflix is a blast without any lags. Player is small and silent, it works great for me...

I bought an earlier model like this one a couple of years ago for our family room. We love it so much I got one for our guest room/my craft room. I can watch blu-rays, Netflix, Amazon - easy entertainment as I work. Easy to set up and use. Can't beat the price.

First, make sure you have at least 10 MBPS internet service to use the streaming features. Once we upgraded our bandwiith, everything works great. It is a little slow when you first turn on to get connected and check for updates, but after that it works as expected.
