I didn't have a smart TV so I picked up this DVD player to go with my HDTV. I couldn't have made a better choice!! It introduced me into the sort of smart TV life without all the extra bucks. I'm in no rush to go out and buy a smart TV now :)

WE WERE IN STORE AND OUR BLUE RAY WAS ON IT'S LAST LEG SO WE SAW THIS AND WITH THE BUILD IN NETFLIX AND MORE WOULD BE GREAT BECAUSE WE DO NOT HAVE CABLE IN THAT ROOM AND THEN WE GOT THE 2ND ONE FOR OUR DAUGHTER FOR CHRISTMAS AND SHE LOVES IT.

Excellent Blu-Ray. Works great, fits in compact spaces. Will be using for the second TV. Have a Smart, 3D, HDTV in the living room, so will be getting the upgraded version (BDPS 6500) of this Blu-Ray that supports the 3D element of that TV.

Purchased this to replace a dinosaur blue ray player. WOW have players come along way. Easy set up, screen prompts are excellent. Very easy to connect to the internet. We accidentally threw away the operating instructions but never needed them.

This is my first Blu-ray player believe it or not so I don't have much to compare it with. It plays Blu-ray discs fine and they look decent on my Insignia 40" LED 1080p HDTV. I don't have a high end HDTV to try it with, but it looks good to me regardless. I just have the Best Buy HDMI cable and maybe a better cable would give a better picture. I really don't know. My only complaint is the on-screen menu that uses the Internet. I am very used to the Roku and I love my Roku, so this doesn't even come close to that. It has the major channels and I actually like Sony's Netflix app better than the one on my Roku though. I have an older Roku so it could be just an old app on there. All around, this is decent Blu-ray player and I tried to kill two birds with one stone by getting this player to make my TV a Smart TV. I may wind up getting a new Roku since we cut the cable. Also, who knew we'd still have cable channels (HD no less) after they came and turned it off??!! Shhhhhh!! :P

I love this blu-ray player! I use it mainly for streaming Netflix and it works great. The images show up crisp and clear. I have no streaming problems whatsoever. It doesn't come with a HDMI cable so make sure you order one to go with it.

Smalll and easy to work with lots of options. Also, has automatic software updates so the blue ray will never go out of date like my last blue ray (different make) that will no longer play blue rays because the company no longer provides it.

This was a run-in-run-out, last minute purchase as our old DVD player stopped working on us all of a sudden. We decided to make a quick trip to Best Buy and were lucky this item was on sale. It works great and it's is very user friendly

Easy setup and excellent product. I thought about the purchase for awhile until I saw this on sale. Glad I made the purchase as Netflix, Vudu, etc. are already on this blue ray player.

This is a pretty good machine it gives lots of options. There are plenty of apps however it is very slow and does not remember passwords so you must input for every user every time. Further, it freezes and must be truned off and on to reboot. Also the remote is super frigile and lite.

Owned for 1 month, plays all my blue rays perfectly, I had issue with Samsung models playing any blue rays after having them for 2 months, replacing all my Samsung products with sony

Love the apps and the rapid loading of DVD's. Only drawback to this machine is the cumbersome remote requiring navigation to enter sign-in information for the various apps, but that seems to be industry standard that one would likely face regardless of which DVD player you choose.

First time I purchased a Sony BD. I know they've been out for a long time. In my opinion, I wish I had known about all the features of this device prior to purchasing a Bluray, player, Google Chrome, etc. Could've save a bunch of money.

I purchased this DVD player for a non-smart TV with no cable box. I was pleasantly surprised to not only access Netflix and others, but it also gave me HD channels! Very compact compared to the old ones and very easy to use. I love it!

Product ready and waiting in no time after ordering online. Very good price for name brand product. Had it set up and watching Netflix and Amazon in no time. Very user friendly. Blue Ray quality is great. I would recommend this product.

This was easy to set up. I had purchased a Samsung but it kept dropping the internet connection. I liked the way the Sony gives a signal strength percentage on the status screen. I haven't used it a lot yet, but it seems to work great.

After looking at reviews, I decided to purchase this Blu Ray player and I was not disappointed. It was easy to hook up and worked perfectly out of the box. The menu screen is easy to navigate and I would not hesitate to purchase again.

All I can say about the player is that it plays and wasn't hard for me to get started with it but I did not use any of the features that it has, so I can't say much about just how it works in that respect or if it's hard to set it up.

I finally upgraded my DVD viewing to Blu Ray. This unit works well with my Samsung TV. Easy set up but I had to buy a digital to analog converter to hook it up to an ancient Kenwood receiver. Other than that no complaints so far.

I have not used dozens of blue-ray players, and I'm sure there are better features or faster startup times on more expensive players, but this one is great for the price. And having a Netflix button on the remote is a nice touch.
