This DVD player is great. It plays Blu-Ray and regular DVD's. It has the HDMI connection required to hook up to your TV. The remote is average. The streaming capability is serviceable, but if you have a need for Blu-Ray odds are you will not be streaming from your DVD. I would like to have a light on the front of the DVD to let me know its on. But to get that feature you have to go up to the next level and it was 50 dollars more. Price vs function this Blu-Ray Dvd Player is worth the price.

This Sony Blu-Ray Player is the perfect Up-Grade for my Home Entertainment System! I did have issues with my Yamaha Audio Amplifier that would not read audio from the HDMI so I had to buy an extractor that split the audio between HDMI and RCA connectors R&L. All is well and am able to enjoy Blue-Ray and Regular DVD movies that are extremely crisp and clear. Now all that remains, is to see how reliable the unit is?

Our first Blu-ray players we bought were a PS3 and "Black Friday" specials. Our PS3 always played the movies perfect while our "deals for Blu-ray players" were extremely slow to load movies. I purchased this model because of the Wi-Fi that was built in and the access to so many apps. You may be on the fence about spending the extra money to get this model, but I assure you if you do spend they extra it is well worth it.

Great device, no complaints. Plays all DVDs and Blurays with no issues. Has Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hulu, Vudu and Sonys service via streaming. Also Playstation now for PS3 games which is great but you need to purchase your own controller and a pay for a subscription. All in all a great player am unsure how it measures up to the Samsungs. Interface is a little old fashioned and not super slick. If you use the PS3 game streaming service its probably a better deal than the other players.

I had bought a Roku to stream Netflix, Vudu and Amazon among other apps. I really hate it. Our blu-ray player is downstairs and we want one for upstairs as we only had a regular dvd player. This was cheaper than the Roku, and it does a lot more. It streams the channels we want, plays blu rays and has a port for my external harddrive. Roku does not recognize AVI files but this one does. Perfect for my needs!

I had an old Sony DVD player and I used my Sony PlayStation 3 for playing Blue Ray DVDs. The TV in the bedroom had a Blue Ray DVD player and it had streaming apps on it. Once I enrolled in Netflix and Amazon I got hooked on streaming older TV shows, so I had to get a more up to date DVD player for the living room - one with streaming video apps that also played Blue Ray DVDs. It works great! I do have one thought for improvement. The PlayStation has the ability to connect an optional keyboard. It would be a lot easier when using the internet app if this player had a the ability to attach the PlayStation keyboard. It is fairly difficult to use the remote to enter data. So back to the review. It is a fabulous DVD player and has every feature that a person can use, and the price was fantastic!

Set up was easy and plays Blu-ray movies beautifully. Wifi was a breeze to set up also.

Got this Sony player and a Samsung on black friday 2015. Both players had resume play and online wifi apps. The Sony was quieter, easier to setup, and has more pleasing aesthetics. Wifi apps and DNLA streaming of media on my home network worked great. Ended up keeping this unit and returning the Samsung. Very happy with this choice. The only thing lacking was the bluray players no longer have a display.

Just what I was looking for. Easy set up, works flawlessly, and is the perfect size.

The Sony Player came with the sound bar we bought. It is backward compatible and we now use it for non blue ray and blue ray DVDs. It is compact and easy to use. It doesn't seem to have memory of previous DVD positions as our older player does but keeps track of a DVD position for one that remains in the player. That is a little inconvenient but not enough to return it.

Very pleased with this purchase! Easy to connect to the in-house wi-fi, and now the family enjoys videos on the big screen TV. (And a heck of a lot cheaper than starting over with a new SMART TV!) The blue-ray picture is superb with excellent sound pick-up too. Would recommend this to anyone looking for quality (hey, it's a Sony) and simplicity in getting the internet to be shown on a TV screen.

I love the flexibility to access different accounts on this player. Accounts like Amazon Live, VUDU, Netflix, Hulu Plus, etc., which sometimes the DVR I'm hooked up to doesn't have. The wireless feature is really nice & reduces the need to figure out the mass of wires on the back of my entertainment unit. It's so easy to install. All I need is to plug it into an outlet, connect it to the TV with a HDMI cable & I'm ready to go (after I get it connected to my wi-fi).

Great DVD blue ray player. It was a easy process to install and quality is great.

The Sony Blu Ray player itself is pretty good. This was not an intended purchase, but BB had this on the clearance table, yet it was still new and never had been used. They gave us a discount because we were purchasing a TV and some other things and that it was on the clearance table. Sony Blu Ray works well and has a lot of features, IMO. But I'm coming from an old DVD player. However, we had issues with Wild TV in getting the account to activate. Called both Wild TV and Sony. BOTH companies were simply not good with their customer service in resolving this issue. All we wanted to do was activate our subscription as we had other subscriptions like WWE were no problem. After numerous calls between Sony, Wild TV and no resolution. How hard could it be to activate a subscription you already pay for on the box? Apparently, pretty hard. Each blamed the other and we ended up canceling our subscription to Wild TV and just letting it go, subscribing to other channels instead that were not problematic. Sony finally calls me back more than a month later to follow up. They ultimately said it wasn't their fault rather Wild TV. I'll give them that they did finally follow up, but definitely NOT timely. So, hopefully nothing goes wrong with the physical Blu Ray device otherwise, Sony customer service stinks and we might as well just buy a new one.

Strong signal for wifi and easy to set up. Bonus of Netflix and Hulu so no extra piece of equipment needed.

I think this was a great choice for a Blu-Ray player. We were looking one that was not too cheap and not too expensive. If you're not interested in playing 3-D DVDs, this is an extremely fine product. It is also Wi-Fi enabled so that the device's firmware can be updated. The only thing that we don't like about the product is the the remote control, which is a bit on t he small side.
