Great sound bar

We were used to having surround sound and bought this along with a subwoofer when we purchased the TV. It is doing really well for us, we also have the subwoofer and added rear speakers. Sound is really nice, my husband is a sound man and has training operating sound systems. He has mentioned several times how good the sound is.

Sound was OK but the product was hard to set up and operate. Considering the price and the fact that I was hooking it up to a new Sony TV it was disappointing.

Good bang for a budget purchase.

On its own it wouldn’t pass 3 stars. The Subwoofer is a MUST. It does reach 4 stars if it’s Paired up with a Sub and rear speakers as well as a Sony Tv that can act as a center speaker. It will sound more “mutted” than the A5000 but cranking up the bass and volume will definitely fix that. The Bravia App is a must for adjustments and updates. if you have WiFi connectivity you won’t have to rely on a USB to add updates.

Exellent Sound Bar with a few caveats

While sound clarity is good with the bar alone you do need the subwoofer and surrounds to get the true cinematic experience especially in a larger room. Another poor decision for me is not having the ability to adjust treble and base. The software can be clunky. At times I have unplug it and disconnect tv for changes to take effect. Iike the integration with the Bravia TVs. It is also a bit overpriced in my opinion. Overall if I had to I would but it again since it works so well with my Bravia TV.

Sony Bravia Theater Bar 8

This works very well with wireless Sony speakers and wireless Sony subwoofers. The bass in this soundbar is really good, but a dedicated wireless subwoofer completes the sound profile. I would recommend adding a sub before adding rear speakers if you are on a budget. As the rear speakers help, but the sub makes more of a difference.
