Also purchased a subwoofer to go along with it (The SA-SW3) and they did not even use it, feeling the bar itself was good on its own. The downside, as is the downside with a lot of products coming out in recent times, is that it needs an app to allow customization. It's not Sony exclusive issue (I have Bose earbuds that also make you download an app) but it's quite annoying at this point.

Sounds good, but over-priced and finicky

Although expensive I figured since I already owned a Sony BRAVIA TV, it would make the connection simple and take advantage of any sync'ing abilities between the 2. I was wrong. For whatever reason, the process that should be quite straightforward is anything but, especially when using eARC on both devices. I tried factory resetting the TV and the soundbar, swapping cables, reordering the sequence of actions, etc. I was about to give up when lo and behold it connected, no idea why. The soundbar itself sounds fine and clear, but lacks bass, which I expected. It has a nice, simple appearance and appears to be of high quality. Setting up the soundbar room acoustics and distances is accomplished using an app on your phone, which worked fine. Everything worked fine for several weeks, including the ability to control it with the TV remote, when it suddenly disconnected and I had to start over trying everything to get it to reconnect, taking 2 days. It shouldn't be like this!

While we're glad you like the great sound quality, we regret that you encountered some audio issues with the soundbar connected to your Sony TV. We want to make sure that you’re taken care of and go through some troubleshooting with you to make sure your Sony audio system is great. Be sure to download the Sony BRAVIA Connect app. For smooth setup and easy troubleshooting. This is a control app for easy use of Sony TVs and home theater products.
One of the possible solutions to the issue is by updating the firmware of the Home Theater System for optimum performance and improve stability of the wireless speaker connection. For details on software updates about soundbars or home theater systems, refer to the product Help Guide or go to Settings → Software update in the Sony | BRAVIA Connect app.
If the behavior continues, we recommend changing the Wireless Playback Quality to Priority on Stable Connection: Open the Sony | BRAVIA Connect app, select Settings → Wireless Speaker Settings, and set the Wireless Playback Quality to Priority on Stable Connection.

Pleasant Surprise

When I set it up at home with a paired subwoofer, it sounded great and filled my large open room more than I expected with a nice clear undistorted sound. At half volume was what I watched movies with. I did try 70 percent volume and still very clear but too loud. I saw no reason to get anything louder unless you have a theater room and want more woofer effect. Well worth it when pairing with a large Sony TV.

It’s Fine, Missing Pieces

Bought this as an open box excellent condition item to save some money and didn’t believe this was worth the new value price. Speaker was in new condition but no hardware was included to mount the little feet on this nor the remote control. A lot of settings to play around to get the right sound. Most of all this is very easy to use with our Sony TV which is ultimately why we went with the sound bar. Would recommend if you want easy use with a Sony TV and single Sony remote otherwise I’d skip on it.

Sony Sound bar with the extra money!

It was a little more than I wanted to spend but the sound quality is excellent and very easy to sync up to the TV and remote control to work as one controller.

Bravia sound system
