Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Honestly, I got this sound bar to replace my a7000 thinking this would be a huge upgrade with the additional two speakers that are side firing, versus the side firing tweeters. Seems like a lot of features have been stripped away and I don’t like that I’m forced to use my phone to make any changes. I don’t like not having a visual on the sound bar that tells me what mode I’m in, etc. The sound actually does not have as much of a deep dynamic feel as the a7000. I think I’m going to go back to my a7000. Some people may be happy with this new. “Upgrade” but I am not.

Sony Bravia Bar 8 & Sony XR-75X90K

Very much worth the upgrade price. Purchased it to see if the new Voice Zoom was as good as the hype. We have to say it is. Voices are much clearer/cleaner/easier to understand as compared to the HT-A3000. Other sound effects of the Bar 8 are much better than the A3000. Using the Bar 8 stand-a-alone: no extra rear speakers or subwoofer. The Bar 8 is connected to a Sony XR-75X90K & all works well.

Bravia 8 Soundbar & Bravia 7 TV

We don't have space for lots of speakers. And my wife doesn't like booming bass. This soundbar was the perfect balance for us. Fits under the TV. And the sound quality is clean, clear vocals with enough rumble when needed.

Good soundbar no base at all

With all the speakers in it you would think it would have some kind of bass but it doesnt. Sound is great though for what it is just had to buy a $350 bass just to have some. Also gets 3 stars since i had to return a brand new one cause it didnt sync and best buy had to come out and check for themselves making me go 2 weeks without it. If its on a good deal buy it if not dont bother.

Posted .Hi Jeffrey, we are sorry to hear that your experience with the Sony - BRAVIA Theater Bar 8 has not been as you expected. We understand how frustrating it must've been as well having the first unit not able to sync. In regards to the bass, you do have the option to buy an additional subwoofer but the Soundbar itself comes with an integrated built-in quad woofer, and you can increase the bass level to your preference following some steps:
1- You can increase the bass by pushing the bass (+) button on the supplied remote
2- Set the Sound Field mode on, this will give you a surround sound with a sense of presence
3- If used with a TV you can go into the TV settings and look for a built-in equalizer, you can enhance the bass from there and make it more powerful on the Soundbar.
