Customers are saying

Customers praise the Cyber-shot RX10 IV 20.1-Megapixel Digital Camera's exceptional image quality, ease of use, and fast autofocus. Many appreciate its relatively light weight, especially considering its powerful zoom lens. While some find the camera somewhat large, the positive feedback on image quality and usability strongly outweighs this concern.

I read lots of reviews before buying this camera. I used it during a 2 week trip to Alaska. I mostly used the auto setting and got many great pictures.

This camera is fantastic at allow you to use the zoom and get pictures of nature and candid street scenes also. If you are new to cameras this one makes it pretty easy. If you don't want to figure it out yourself just turn it to "automatic" for pictures and it comes out great. If you want a little more fun turn the dial to "scene" and choose one of those. If you want to take video it gets a bit more complicated but nothing a quick youtube video won't solve and you will have great video as well.

Great camera-- I use it for concert photography as well as shooting 4k Green Screen for a network TV show. I had the Mark 3 and honestly the Mark 4 has a ton of new features in the menu and all around. The autofocus is a significant improvement. Great purchase!

This bridge camera has provided has the right size lens and continuous shooting for bird photography. Its all-in-one package simplifies things. I'm not a professional but I still want sharp images where feathers of the birds are sharp. The only challenge is that 1" sensor introduces a lot of noise at higher ISOs.

Everything about it as written by Sony is accurate. I have just two observations - it is a heavy camera; and you can’t crop a taken photo and save it on the camera, has to be done by a computer. I just assumed you could but I contacted Sony to make sure and this camera does not have this feature.

I can’t say enough how much I love this camera. I came from a Canon with a lot of lenses but I was tired of packing so many lenses. This camera take phenomenal photos. The 600mm zoom is great. I’m very happy with the quality of the camera and how sturdy it feels.

I've only begun learning all this camera has to offer. My Canon SX60 lens got damaged and I wanted another bridge camera but a bigger sensor. I sometimes miss the longer zoom for nature photos, but the image quality is much better with this camera. It's heavier but worth it to me. Video is amazing.

not sure what all the fuss is for this... a huge camera and OK image quality for the size... I would get an actual SLR with a better sensor and detachable zoom lens - otherwise not sure this is really a point-and-shoot.

It must have been defective. The cheapest cell phone would take better pictures. Out of focus at all zoom ranges. All pictures seemed over exposed and washed out. Taking the same picture with my A7r the difference was laughable. All the reviews I read can't be all wrong ? Bought the A7riii, about $500 more, couldn't be happier.

The RX10 IVis an incredible all around camera. I love the quality of the pictures over a wide range of subjects from wildlife to long exposure landscapes and night shots. The auto focus performance completely justified upgrading my from the RX10 III. When I'm out with friends and they're lugging around a ton of gear or wondering which lens to take, I just smile because this camera covers all I need to do. Throw a few filters in my small bag and grab my tripod and I'm ready for anything. The small size and light weight of my kit make flying internationally a breeze. And when I'm shooting hand held the image stabilization is great, so I get sharp shots even when shooting long. I also like that I can set up back-button focus on this model! This is an overall traveling photographers dream camera! I also put it in my diaper bag and carry it around with me to take photos of the kids when we go to the park because it’s so handy to have all these features all in one awesome camera!

I got to know this Sony model at work, and when I retired I missed it having it around. I’ve never had a camera work so hard to get usable images before. My first time using it was a high-pressure moment in which I became a replacement photographer at an outdoor event. I hadn’t had a chance to acquaint myself with the camera yet. Also, when it’s bright and sunny out I always find it difficult to feel really certain about focus and exposure, it doesn’t matter how good the LCD is. I put the camera in “green box” mode (camera makes all the settings choices without my input), the event finally ended and I went inside and pulled the images off the card. I could not believe how many beautiful images there were, I honestly thought there would be none, and a client I’d be making excuses to. Understand this is a camera not designed for stellar low-light performance, you have to spend a lot more to get that. But for all other purposes, it’s a headache-relieving design. Glad to have found an open-box one at Best Buy!

Earlier this year I bought a Sony a6500 camera at Best Buy and it is awesome!!! The one BIG thing that I don't really like about it is having to switch lenses constantly. ENTER the RX10 IV: I no longer have to switch lenses. The built in zoom lens is *sharp* even at the 600mm end! The phase detection auto focus is fast and accurate just like the advertisement says. And the built in image stabilization works great too. In regards to recording in 4K, I've had NO problems with overheating, which unfortunately happens with the a6500 every now and then. The only things that I'd like to see improvement in a future RX10 V would be: (1) No 4K video at 60fps (2) I wish it had at least 24MP of resolution (3) No built in neutral density filters (4) No way to reprogram the zoom ring to simply do nothing. (I sometimes bump the darn thing every now and then when I'm using the manual focus ring) (5) Dual memory card slots. Let's face it, some of us will be using this camera in semi critical/critical applications. Having backup memory is important. *
