This camera id FANTASTIC! I took a photo of a large house at the end our lake, about 3/4 mile away, at full zoom and the photo came out great. The photo showed almost the whole house. It's replacing a Sony DSC-H300, which doesn't have a viewfinder and did, on its own, decided not to work anymore.

This camera is state of the art. If you are a beginner, do not threat, you can learn how to use this camera properly in no time. The features are limitless and the WiFi is a handy tool as well. You can link the camera to your laptop, cell phone and television, especially if you have a Sony TV. Every time I use this camera, I find myself learning about a new feature. You won't be disappointed when you purchase this item.

After having a Panasonic Lumix that was great for a while, I was really looking forward to this camera. My biggest use for a high zoom camera is for sports shots of my kids during soccer and tennis season, so I use the burst mode to rapidly catch the action. The good news is that this camera has a burst mode - the bad is that it takes too long to process the burst. With my previous camera, I could burst shot, wait a second and then take another burst. With the Sony DSC-HX400, you better hope that you held the button down long enough because its recovery time for the next action is so long that you hope nothing good happens anytime soon. Disappointing. It also suddenly stopped working, and I need to take it back to see if I have any options for it. Seriously, taking pictures at graduation and it just stopped working. No clue why. Glad I have my Lumix to go back to, but learn from my mistakes and listen to the reviews about the burst processing if that's what you are needing. On the plus side, I saw questions about taking pictures of birds in flight, and I was able to do that easily.

I searched for several weeks for the right camera. This camera was perfect for my needs.

Camera was easy to use right out of the box. Strap was difficult to put on but with instructions and taking your time. Got it.

Love the camera. Take it everywhere. Zoom is nice and construction is well executed

It shoots pictures for my job very well. Creating separate folders makes my job easier.

Picture taking is fast, crisp and clean! Should have bought this camera years ago.

We bought this camera "open box" in Las Vegas, NV before our trip to Utah. The camera does take great shots but the battery would drain in a matter of a few hours. We did buy a charger so we were stuck with a camera that didn't work unless it was charged throughout the day. Maybe it's a glitch that can be fixed but presently I'm waiting for my camera to be serviced by the geek squad.

I am very pleased with my purchase of my camera.A friend was so impressed she also bought on of these cameras the videos on line are very helpful.

This digital camera takes clear pictures w/o much need for Photoshopping.

I take a lot of action photos and pictures turn out great. Only need to watch where you rest your fingers, buttons sensitive.
