So far everything works great on my camera. I will be taking a photography class at my local community college to get the full benefit from this awesome camera! Was a floor model but came to me just brand new, with all the accessories....

the zoom allows me to take beautiful pictures of our florida wild life. i'm not a camera buff and didn't want to become one. i just wanted the ability to take some nice pictures without a steep learning curve and this camera allowed me to do it. very happy.

Excellent point and shoot modes are perfect for a beginner. Scene selection settings are varied and cover a large variety of scenes. The image stabilization works very well, even in low light, at slow shutter speeds. The camera has many additional features that will appeal to advanced users. Battery time is good even when using the LCD screen.

This is by far the best camera in this price range that I have ever bought, perfect for traveling since it is very light weight, has an amazing 50x zoom and a Carls Zeiss lens, and 20.4 Mega pixels, CMOS sensor HD video and WiFi enabled ... unbeatable

Great camera to just point and shoot or to take detailed pictures.

I am going to a concert soon and they only allow fixed lense cameras. Obviously I wanted as much optical zoom as possible. This was the clear choice. Don't buy this thinking it will equate to a high end DSLR.. you get what you pay for BUT compared to all cameras in its class, this is the best. The value you get is pretty incredible considering the quality of image and features. The zoom is stable and very good. I was able to take a picture of the moon and see fine details and craters. Low light pictures so far has not been an issue also. Picture quality is good. Haven't had the "grainy" effect like some other reviews have mentioned. All in all, this camera is the best value for the money.

Love the pictures that I've taken. Clarity and distance taken are remarkable. Just have not figured out how to use everything and how everything works. Wish there was a printed manual instead of online which I've not yet accessed.

It's got some nice stuff that it can do . I am learning how it works still I think when I know more it will be a great camera. Sony does make great stuff. Would like to take some star pictures cannot figure it out?

The zoom and focus oaths camera is great. I wish the rear display screen was more ergonomic like the Canon and Nikon models. Other than that it can't be beat.

This is by far the best camera I have ever owned. Takes great pictures and HD movies, and with 50 times zoom you can get really close to your subject. This camera does about everything you would want in a camera.

I am very impressed with the high quality of the pictures I am getting with this camera. The pictures have very rich colors and sharpness.The zoom lens has some trouble focusing at 1200mm.

I didn't know which camera to pick as I'm a beginner photographer. The associate within the store was very helpful and steered me toward this camera and I couldn't be happier. It's easy to use and takes amazingly crisp and clear pictures. The camera displays tips and tricks to help you while you're taking the photos. It's amazingly simple and great for a beginner.

I dislike the poor photo quality and limited feature set of smart-phone and point-and-shoot cameras and constantly feel that I am giving up too much for the pleasure of easy portability. But I also find myself grumbling about the weight and limited zoom capability of DSLRS, and feel that I am lugging around too much hardware for the pleasure of catching top quality images. The Sony DSC-HX400 gives me an enormous zoom range, eliminating the need for interchangeable lenses. This means a big reduction in the weight of the camera/lenses set. The sensor is a phenomenon, producing images vastly superior to point-and-shoot cameras of the past. Even the low light capability is very good. This camera is a modern wonder, and it’s hard to detect differences between the photos it produces and those from an APS-C or full-frame camera unless you are making very large prints or insist on the need to take photos with a very shallow depth of field.

This camera is great. I bought it to have great pictures and videos and it does both flawlessly. I don't know how to use all the features it has, but just using it for simple pictures is great.

Simple to use and takes great pictures. It has an adjustable viewing screen so you can take views of children playing on the floor. It also has a typical viewfinder that is actually a small electronic viewer. Most of the functions are simple if that is all you need. It can connect with a smartphone and shows the actual picture, ability to change the zoom and remotely control the shutter (as in group shots). My wife loves it.

I purchased this a an Xmas gift for myself & have taken several pictures inside (low light) & out (sunny & cloudy). All the pics turned out great! There is only 1 minor complaint - NO touchscreen

Bought this for my girlfriend for Christmas it’s a good starter camera without having to pay the big bucks for a DSLR. I have now been wanting to get one for myself

I have Sony DSLRs and love them. I was looking for a smaller camera with great capability to take on a 2 week hiking trip so I didn’t have to take all of my equipment. This did the trick! Image quality is AMAZING- even at full zoom, it’s light enough for what I needed (but it’s NOT a pocket camera), and the battery life was pretty good for a PAS. I couldn’t be happier!
