Welcome back, Dualshock. We missed you.

This is one of those purchases that you don't even have a choice in, so why fight it? Soon (if not already) you'll only be able to get dualshock in stores. For those of you who don't care about the function, you can find the version of the controller on online shops for cheap. But for the purist gamers out there, who want to experience everything the game has to offer, just get this. OH! And make sure it comes with the cord. My first one didn't.

I have not been a fan of all those controller buttons since the Nintendo 64 came out, but I can actually use this controller. It is very comfortable, has well-marked buttons that are easy to reach, excellent features like the PS button and USB port, holds a charge for a very long time, and has great "shock" effects. The latter are just enough to tell you something is going on but not so much that it is annoying. I like the thumb sticks, too.

Solid Controller from Sony - Lacks a USB Cable

    Posted .

The controller was designed solid by Sony. Nothing special, I find it better comfort over third-party controllers. Battery life is on average when compared to Wii and Xbox 360 rechargeables (5-6 hours continuous play). Full Charge via USB averages around 4 hours. It's difficult to understand for $55 it's just the controller and no USB Mini cable included to charge it. Even a 4" cable doesn't cost more than $.50. Would it be nice for Sony to pony up and offer a USB with the controller? Not too much to ask for. It would upset others if you don't have a handful of them around. Again, Solid controller I find hard to replace with any other third-party.

I bought it recently because my original controller died on me (after 3-4 years.) I love the blue tone and metallic look. I would recommend this controller to anyone because it fullfills all your gaming needs. Doesn't come with a USB charging cable but I already have one so its all good. :)

Don't bother with knockoffs, Sony still makes the best controllers for the PS3.

This is a great upgrade from the regular six axis controller. The six axis was very very light, and there was no rumble. With the Dual Shock 3 it actually feels like a controller and there is rumble now. The only downfall about the controllers are the triggers. The triggers feel like mush. Specially compared to the xbox 360 triggers. Also there is not enough rumble. But other than that this is a very nice controller.

i love this controller this is the controller that should have released with the ps3 but i guess its better late than never its a good controller only complaint is not all games are compatiable at release you need a patch through the psn to give some games the rumble feature but other wise good controller

I purchased my Dualshock3 controller last month and i was very impressed in the added vibrate function compared to the Sixaxis controllers. Also this controller feels more comfortable in my hands than the sixaxis'. the added weight of the controllers make for more comfortable and extended gameplay

Kinda pricey but that's sony for ya! They made no changes to the PS2 controller on it except that they made the Joy Sticks on it move smoother and changed the R2 L2 style buttons, which makes me slip a lot when I play shooter games but racing games are fun with it. They also did not add any bulky battery that showed on the controller which adds to the nice style that they want to keep. Sadly, motion sensor sucks so don't even bother to pay attention to that, its nothing like a Wii. It has reachargable unreplacable batteries so thats a bad thing.

It works great but it does wear out internally. I recommend the insurance in this case. The exchange is simpler and worth the $11

get ready to rumble, even with ps2 games

was already extremely happy with the Sixaxis controller, but I could not resist getting the DualShock 3. Not only do you get the rumble, but also, it feels much better in your hands, even for those games that do not use this feature. The rumble function is fun, but on top of that, it helps with gameplay, because "feeling" what is happening provides a lot more feedback than just watching how your character or car reacts to the environment. The biggest surprise of all was that the rumble works with PS 2 games in the PS 3 system. I am currently playing through "God of War", a game which had the rumble capability in PS 2. I thought that it was unlikely that I was going to get this feature with this new controller in the PS 3, but it worked perfectly. I know that having to buy a new controller and basically discard the one that came with the system is not the ideal situation, but I have to say this product is really worth shedding the extra bucks.

    Excellent Controller

The addition of a vibration feature only makes the PS3 more competitive with other other rival consoles. This is an addition that should have been availble upon the PS3's market arrival. That being said, I love the vibration addition as I have a PS2 and was use to a vibrating controller. I bought my PS3 where a SIXAXIS controller was included with no vibration feature. This style of play took some getting use to. I was very releaved when the Dual Shock 3 was made available to consumers. The design of the controller is basically the same as the controllers from previous generations of playstations. The design is a good design and thus the few changes made to the Dual Shock 3. The vibration feature of the Dual Shock 3 works very well. My only gripe is that the vibrations could be a little stronger. I think there is some conservation of vibration to prevent quick depletion of the battery. I would recommend this controller to anyone.

    Only PS3 controller worth getting

I learned a long time ago to only buy the Sony controllers for Playstations. The price is comparable to the other console's controllers, which is kind of high IMO. I prefer the XBOX 360 layout and trigger controls, but can't get those to work on PS3.

My son is very pleased with this wireless remote after having been through two others. It works as well as the wired remotes and the charge is pretty good as well. He gives it two thumbs up.
