This controller replaces the original ps4 controller. Although it looks almost identical to its predecessor, there are some distinct differences. The most important one being the upgraded quality of the buttons and joysticks. They feel more pronounced, definitely the sticks feel much better. Another small yet nice change is the addition of a slot on the touchpad that allows the light to show through. One last thing to mention is I believe the battery life is a bit better.

My dualshock had terrible stick drift. This did the job and I love the color!

This is just like the one with the console and is a good addition.

This item is a must for my gaming husband who uses and abuses his controllers like crazy .

It's a controller. It works just as intended. No noticeable lag or hiccups when it comes to inputs. A reliable pickup when your original controller starts to wear out.

I have read that aftermarket ones are better but it does the job.

Controller works fine and is in my favorite color. My only complaint about these controllers never come with a cord

Going from a PS2 to a PS4, I was glad the new controller did not abandon the familiar PS controls. I like that it is wireless and seems to hold a charge well so far. As the battery ages, we'll see if it becomes a defacto wired controller because of poor battery life. The hype over the share button is stupid. Why would I want to post screenshots and videos of my games to social media? I certainly do not care to see other people's game shots in my news feed. Also, the touchpad is, so far, under-utilized and present great potential that I hope gets tapped in future games. Also a little more expensive than it needs to be, particularly when you consider that you have to buy a separate micro USB cable (why wouldn't sony include a cable that is no doubt cheap to make! -- if to upsell the sale of cables separately, I cannot believe too many people are foolish enough to buy their marked up version of the cable you can buy from other brands much cheaper)

Pretty cool color overall. Works well with all other colors we have. Would recommend to anyone.
