It's pretty incredible to me that PlayStation basically built the perfect foundation for a controller with their first DualShock. With each new PlayStation console, they have added to and improved said foundation, the DualShock 4 maintaining said trend. While each version is a clear successor of the previous one, the 4 is definitely the biggest departure in overall structure. The design has been changed to make it handle a bit better (not a huge improvement, but a noticeable one), the new touch pad feature had me wary initially but won me over with its ease and multiple uses, a vibration detector that is just perfect for a game like 'Until Dawn' where you literally have to be still or be detected in-game. There is also a light bar which changes colours according to the game you're playing and the action you're taking (for example, if the police are after you in 'Grand Theft Auto V', the light blinks red and blue). This is a fun new addition, but I do lament the inability to turn it off as it does drain the battery faster than it would otherwise. You can adjust the brightness level, but unfortunately not turn it off altogether. It's a minor thing that doesn't hinder my overall adoration of the controller, but if there's one thing I would change, it would be that.

I bought this controller for myself I really like the color overall it's the same as any other controller is just a color highly recommend just don't eat Cheetos while playing lol

Pros: -It's red, so it's hard to lose (unless you're color blind). -It works (unless you forget to charge it). -It does what my hands tell it to do. Cons: -It does the things my stupid hands tell it to do, like getting me killed. -It doesn't read my mind and do what I wish my hands would tell it to do, like not getting me killed. -You'll lose it if you're color blind. -It won't work if you don't charge it. I mean...it's a controller. I would have liked either white or black since my previous black one went airborne (well yeah, I threw it but the ghosts carried it into the wall and smashed it; oh yeah, we have ghosts), but this is what my local store had in stock so this is what I got. Plus the color is called Magma, and I can't even think of that word without hearing Dr. Evil's voice in my head saying Magma (as in, liquid hot mag-ma). You just said that in Dr. Evil's voice, didn't you? Yeah, it's okay. I did too.

Originally, I was only using the controller that came with the PS4 bundle. However, having to share the controller with my son became painfully tiresome. I purchased this blue controller and we have not been dissappointed. Same great controller as original, only blue. Now we can play dual games. Great purchase.

You know what you're buying when you get one of these controllers. They work great and as expected. The color is a very nice dark blue. It didn't make me any better at playing PS4 games, so that's a bummer. Definitely a good buy if you're in the market for a Dualshock 4 controller with a different than standard color.

I love the look and feel of this controller. The two-tone red is cool (darker on the bottom/lighter on top). I almost wish the Buttons and pads were red too! Somehow, this controller feels lighter than my gold dualshock, but has a great feel in the hand. I would definitely recommend, and might even buy a 2nd one.

2 part review. 1. As far as the product it should have 5 stars, they work great right out of the box. Little to no lag if you do a little research on set up on YouTube. Lighter than most controllers. Very easy to use. Plus unlike the 1st PS4 controllers you can tell its better quality. All of the various color controllers tend to be better made than the original common ones. So yes 5 out of 5 for a normal user. 2. As for in a pro gamer setting I give it a 2. Its simple I wear one of these controllers out every month. Tell signs stick drift, decreased reaction time between pressing a button vs reaction on screen. 1st stick wear out, followed by R2 L2, followed by R1 L2. Finally the point you must replace X an O wears out or sticks. It isn't due to throwing or being rough on the controller. They just wear out. I am getting close to pro level at Madden. So close to 3 to 6hrs of gaming a night every night use. In conclusion I oddly love these controllers and I've tried all of them as well as XBox controllers. They are my favorite. Just make sure you buy from Best Buy only, purchase the protection plan, and you are all set. Great product, and perfect for a Normal Players.

Obviously, you have to get these if you graduate to this next-gen system. However, having played with DualShock controllers since the days of the PS2. This is easily the best one yet. The addition of the touch-pad is interesting and useful, but honestly the best improvement is the addition of a headphone / microphone jack to the remote itself - ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!

Great Product! The grip is comfortable, even for someone with big hands. It easily connects to the device (ps4 in this case) and it’s durable. For anyone reading this thinking about buying the product, it is definitely a worth your money.

Really meets my expectations I also like the color.i like the shock it makes the game really exciting. Connects easily to console the buttons are colorful and very sensitive in really tight spots analog sticks seem to be really strong and haven't torn. So that makes me come to the conclusion that the duelshock lives up to the Sony name. thank you legend santee ca

Great PS4 controller brand new. I recharge once a day. I was needing one and Best Buy had it. I received when Best Buy said I was going to get it. Best Buy always seems to me the place to go for anything technical. I'm sorry I didn't go to Best Buy first. Best Buy is number one.

Have been a big fan of PlayStation controllers since the beginning. Love the form factor and placement of the analog sticks. In recent years I've developed an attachment to the color red, so this version of the controller was a no-brainer for me. I play games nearly every day for hours at a time, so this controller gets put through the ringer. This being my second red controller in 3 years or so, I'd say I get about a year and a half before I start encountering issues (stick drift/etc...). With that said, I wish these controllers lasted longer for as much as they cost, but it's a minor gripe in the grand scheme of things. If I didn't play as much as I do, I know the controller would last considerably longer.

I purchased this gamepad after purchasing my PS4, but use this specific one for my PC. I love that this gamepad is plug and play, and requires absolutely no other programs to utilize this controller. I use this to play Final Fantasy XIV online on my PC and it works perfectly fine. I tried using an XboX controller, and absolutely hate it. With the PS4 controller, I can move my character with the left analog stick with my right thumb, and perform certain actions on the D-pad with my left thumb at the same time. I could not get used to the switched D-pad/analog stick of the xbox controller. For any Sony lovers who want to get started playing with their PS4 controller for PC, all you need is this device. To play wireless all you need is an additional bluetooth dongle. Again, no additional programs required. All you have to do is get your dongle and gamepad to sync. This requires you to turn off your controller, and ready your dongle, then press and hold the PS button and share button at the same time. Use google for further instructions. Again you do not need any additional nonsense programs. At least I didnt on my PC and windows 10, for FFXIV.

Not much more anyone can say about the PS4 controllers, but the first party, made by Sony, is the way to go. And, I really like this cool paint scheme.
