I was disappointed to find this unit has no HDMI connection. Other than that, it works as expected.

Do not Recommend no HDMI port not compatible with new tv

I bought this DVD Player because my 12 year old dual-disc player that I won from an coin-op arcade stopped working. I didn't want to spend alot and this was the right price for a name brand item. There was another player that cost about $5-$10 less, but the box of that one didn't tell me what type of connectors were available. I needed the 3-RCA plug-in type as I don't have an HDTV or HDMI availability and the box for this player had a picture of the available plugs. I was buying an HDTV at the same time, but that replaced my computer monitor; my TV is an old analog with over-the-air connections (I don't have cable/dish). The set-up went very easy, but it took a bit to get used to the remote. It works fine but was a little different from what I was used to. I discovered something excellent with this player: It not only remembers where you left off, but it remembers from disc to disc. I was watching a show (play all) season and switched out to another disc of a different TV show in the middle of an episode. When I put the first disc back in it said "resume from last [stop]." I thought there must be something wrong, but I tried it and sure enough it continued from where I had left off on that disc. I've done this several times now, switching between several discs; and it always remembers where I left off on each one! Magnificent! I wasn't very impressed with the "progressive scan." It moves randomly along the disc as you search, but you can't watch the seconds in-between. I'm not saying this right, but I don't know the words. The progressive scan seems to skip through the disk faster than I want it to, and can't get it to only skip forward a few seconds - it has to skip/scan forward (or backward) a minute or more.

This is the perfect DVD player for those of us with an extensive collection of non-bluray disks and who can't afford to replace them. Likewise, My television will not support the modern HD connectivity. The player is, inexpensive, compact, and simple to use.

Bought this player for my teenage daughter. It's small size allows it to sit in her room on a dresser. The set up was very easy. It delivers a good picture quality and is easy to use. It is definitely a good value.

I was resurrecting my 70's vintage music system and needed a low cost cd player to take advantage of my hundreds of cd's. Found this Sony unit as an open box special for less than $25. Takes up very little space, simple use and hook up. Winner!

Fits on my tv center with my tv and cable box. Small and compact size. Easy to use and operate. Great value for the money.

I purchased this DVD player to show videos in the waiting area. It was easy to install, just plug it in and everything was set to go. No, it doesn't have a lot of fancy functions but it does exactly what it's designed to do, play DVDs and it does it perfectly. The only issue I have is that there is no infinite loop function, so I have to press play every time it finishes, and I can't be around to press play all the time. Overall, it's a cheap product that does exactly what it's meant to do, and the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of a personal issue I have with it lacking a function I believe should be included in all DVD players cheap or expensive.

After spending more than 20 minutes shopping around on multiple sites I decided to settle on this little baby right here. I thought, "Why not? The reviews are great, the price is perfect, and I don't need anything fancy, plus if I don't like it I'll take it back. Let me tell you, I picked a winner! This little DVD player was more than I expected because it fit perfectly in a small space, the connection to our Toshiba TV took 15 seconds (The connecting cables CAME WITH the player, keep in mind they are 2 1/2 foot cables), power on time was no more than 12 seconds, and finally the remote was usable at over 15 feet. The only thing I feel I should mention is that our TV is 46 inches and you must use the Red, Yellow and White connections, which is fine, but the picture is in the middle of the screen with about 6 inches of black around the edges. Does not affect the movie at all, but I know some people do not like that. I needed something for me and mom to simply watch our dvd's and nothing more, this player delivered that and fit our apartment perfectly. Would buy again and again and again.

This unit works tremendous, and is a super low price. The only thing that the box does not mention is that it is not HDMI Hookup, rather composite. Ok, that will work well with this 24" little TV I bought. I just could not imagine that any device was still available that was Non-HDMI, it is like a VHS hookup!

For the money, this is a great player. Very affordable compared with other players. It has a small footprint and will fit easily in most locations and is inconspicuous on the shelf. It's image and sound qualities are pretty good. The device comes with only a 3-pin connector and a 4-pin one is needed with my TV. So I had to purchase this item.

We just needed a very basic DVD player and this one met our needs, plus was in a very affordable price range. So far it works just fine - no problems with it in the month we have been using it. Easy to install and start using right away. Cannot speak to durability as we have only had it a short time -but so far so good.

This Sony DVD is perfect. It's small and works great. I will be buying another one and the price is great!

Great DVD player, good sound and picture quality. Multifaceted remote control. For some older movies that don't necessarily have captions, it provides them for you, which was a great surprise to me.

Very reasonably priced DVD player, works very well, & was easy to install too. I would recommend to friends, and will buy more of these for every tv in the house & RV.

Works great, easy to install and all at a great price. I've had it less than a month, so I can't speak to it's durability.
