After reading a ton of reviews about the Blu ray players freezing up and swallowing discs, I decided to get a simple DVD player. Note that this unit is actually quite small, much narrower than standard AV components. Like most DVD/BR players now, there is no timer display on the front of the unit (that is my one gripe, but applies to almost all...). Overall, happy with this inexpensive DVD player that always works.
