One thing to ask yourself is if it's worth spending this amount of money on a DVD player now that Blueray is mainstream. You can get one for only $5-10 more so that may be the better option but for what it is it's a good DVD player with great quality for your DVD's.

Good unit for not being a Blu-Ray.

The remote is not very powerful, but functions ok. The indicators on unit are hard to see, and there is no display on the unit. However, the unit does have a HDMI port, and does display a great picture for a non Blu-Ray unit.

(yes, I still listen to cd's) This player will play through skips and scratches that other players would quit on. I'm very happy with this and all of my SONY purchases in my life.

Works best with Remote, buttons are a little too far recessed. Both picture and sound are very good. This player is a very good value.
