This was a great investment for our leisure time needs

My 7 year "old" DVD player got sick. When this "new" one arrived I realized it was the exact same model. I decided that this was kind of comforting - i.e. that SONY hadn't "replaced" it. How often is that true these days - that you can buy the exact same thing years later? So, this review is really of the "old" unit. It worked mostly fine until the servo that spins the disc started to get balky. It did not track DVDs as well as the drive in my computers. For the price, it's hard to complain.

good picture quality. light in weight does very well

We took this gift to him for Christmas, hooked it up for him, showed him how to use it. He was very happy. He's 84 and wanted something simple to operate.

This Sony dvd player is a very good value. The HD upconversion feature works well, and it has a nice, compact remote.

Works great with different dvd formats. Setup was fast and easy. You need a Hdmi cable for the best picture.

This is a great small DVD player that allows you to not only plug into the TV, but the stero at the same time. We love watching movies and having the audio coming through our Bose speakers.
