Love it, small, compact and affordable. We don't watch DVDs often, but over Christmas our old player crapped out and the wife wanted to watch holiday movies.

Bought this to replace my Toshiba DVD that JUST RECENTLY died after DECADES! I did not see any Toshiba DVD players, only LG, Panasonic, a couple other brands, and Sony. I went with Sony based on Brand Recognition and Reputation. So far so good. Player is quiet, nice picture and sound, and takes up very little space. I still have a lot of DVDs, hopefully this will last a good while.

This is not the best - but if your looking for a reasonable player, then this is it. Easy to set up, easy to use and it preforms great. If you think you can do better an any of the on-line and bid sites, remember, if there is a problem, your up the creek. This Sony player comes with a guarantee and if there is a problem - well take it back!

Perfect...simple sleek by design and plays the DVD's beautifully. Up conversion for older DVD's to crisp clear resolution. Easy to operate and install. I had a question and texted Best Buy advisor, he gladly assisted me with additional required cable... A+ for customer service. Happy customer !

Easy to set up, I'm 74 and not technical at all. Works fine with my phone or laptop

The SONY DVP-SR510H has quite good video (I'm using at the moment the composite video connection); haven't tried the HDMI output yet) and audio. Audio is especially robust and detailed on CD's, with considerable presence. Machine runs quietly -- only a barely perceptible motor noise which can only be heard if you put your ear almost on top of the machine. The reason for 4 stars: 1. NO DISPLAY PANEL. That seems to be a thing of the past with DVD and most Blu-Ray players, unfortunately. Display panel is not quite so necessary for playing DVD's but with CD's you really do need a display with track number and elapsed time, otherwise you don't know where you are on the CD. And I'm certainly not about to turn on the TV to find out. I have an NAD CD player for redbook CD's and a Yamaha BD-S681 (with a display panel!) for redbook CD's and SACD's, as well as outstanding Blu-Ray video, so I don't need the SONY for CD's. 2. Machine is light-weight and somewhat flimsy. The buttons on the machine only respond to a heavy-finger touch that tilts the front end of the player forward and shoots the rear end up in the air. The machine looks elegant, definitely not like cheap junk, but it's rather small and seems like David to the BD-S681's Goliath. However, despite the dislikes noted above, I can recommend the SONY DVP-SR510-H. It's about as good as you're going to get these days for standard definition DVD players, and for around $45, the video and audio quality are truly amazing. It's an acceptable bargain for the money.

Overall, this disc player worked very well, playing dvd & cd with no issues. Remote worked well also ( complete w/batteries).

You can't go wrong for the price of this DVD Player. Great functionality, picture and HDMI too.

Just what I needed. Small and compact taking up very little footprint. I need a player that I could put in a small place and this fit the bill. Granted, I can't play BR but at this point who cares.

I bought this to replace an older DVD player that I could not connect to my new 1080p TV because the older player did not have an HDMI output. I use it only to play DVDs, not any of the streaming services on the Internet. It was easy to connect and configure. It works fine! I did not buy a Blu-Ray player because I did not have any Blu-Ray videos.
