Product is better than I expected. Very lightweight and easy to handle. swivel screen a plus. Perfect for any placed where you just want to be by yourself and watch your favorite DVD's.

Its inexpensive. I purchased one for my son a few months ago. Its very light and very easy to setup because of it's HDMI port. So far it's working perfectly fine and we like it.

It's a basic player, it's does everything you need it to do. When the player is connected to a smart tv, it seems even better. Nobody will know it's a basic player.

Took the chance of buying open box because it was cheap and my school district kept promising me a DVD player for the past two years but never got me one. The price was great since I was using my own money. I planned to use this in my classroom for DVD media I own that cannot be found on any streaming services. The first one I bought was described as having an HDMI port but it did not. I returned it and purchased this one. Screen says “DVD cannot be played” no matter what I tried to do with it. I tried Googling fixes, trying different DVDs, resetting it and nothing. When I brought it back I was informed it was past the return date…but if I was a Best Buy Club member then maybe they could have done something. I went to the Geek Squad counter and they told me they “don’t do DVD players” and that I have to contact Sony. This particular player was purchased in November. I didn’t try to use it until after the winter break. Now I am stuck with a piece of equipment that never worked. How are they even allowed to sell something that: 1. isn’t the product that is described and 2. doesn’t even work? I have been a Best Buy credit card holder for several years but this has made me decide to cancel my card.

This is a pretty nice affordable DVD player if you don't want to upgrade to blu-ray, but have an HDTV. The upscaling looks pretty good. Not blu-ray quality obviously, but an improvement over plain DVD output.

Bought a Star Wars Trilogy for my grandsons. Went to preview them and found my older DVD lacking. (Broken) The grandsons were coming the next day and it was late on Saturday. Fortunately I was able to purchase it at Best Buy and set it up in time.

I love this player! I bought one a few years back for myself, now my daughter has a TV in her room so I gave the older one to her and bought a new one for myself!

No real complaints. Just the basic DVD player. Not sure what the upconversion does with a standard DVD on a 4K tv but it looked pretty standard. Always a Sony fan fir products. Reliable.

Sony makes the best DVD player on the market. Best place to get it is Best Buy.

Low end purchase that pays off. I purchased a Phillips dvd player 2 hours earlier and it did not play at all. This Sony was $5 more and works just fine. I would recommend this for standard simple use.

I bought this DVD to replace a DVD that I had for years. So, I wasn't sure if I was going to be please with this one, I am.

What I needed had player did not have HDMI spot this is good update all it needed was HDNI cord

Inexpensive but does the trick to play my collection of CD’s and DVD’s. I connected it to my Smart TV HDMI port which, in turn, connects to my Sound Bar. There may have been other possible configurations but I was able to do this without reading the instructions. The Sony DVD player is cheaply constructed but works just fine!

I love the simplicity of this DVD player. It works well and all of my movies look great on the tv. The only downside is the cheap remote it came with. The buttons do not respond quickly or click on sometimes but it's not a huge setback.

You know you look for something that isn't expensive and something that will survive the toddlers. This DVD player has survived 2 toddlers and still works. I would definitely recommend.
