I didn't see anyone else comment about this so I don't know if this is what it's suppose to do or I got a dud. My other players I've had before this never did this. But this is my first Sony DVD player.

Posted .Hi Katl, We're sorry to hear that the unit is not working properly. To isolate the issue, we recommend to do a power reset by unplugging it from the power outlet for 1 min then replugging it back. You may also refer to the link below under setup option to reset the unit to factory default:
