Decent unit, plays well. My disappointment lies with an inability to play CD's, New or older.

Bought this player 12/29/13 and now after 6 months dvds that used to play perfectly are not registering or skipping throughout the entire movie. This has been happening every day for 5 days. I called Sony since it has a parts warranty and they want me to pay $33 plus ship it to them for labor costs. After shipping it is the same cost as buying a new player! I will not be buying another Sony product to say the least.

Unit has lots of nice features and the video quality is excellent however within five months the left audio started cutting out intermittently. Guess Sony's reputation has faded into the past. Not happy at all.

I am on my third and last Sony DVD player. Maybe third time will be the charm. DVD player freeze frames movies about half way through. No its not my movies because I have tried 30 different ones. Also the remote does not seem to turn on the player with the first push of the button nor does it load the dvd the first time either. Don't understand this. Maybe I should have my head examined for trying it again. Thought Sony was top of the line. Guess not anymore.

Here's the problem. I cannot for the life of me get this to work. I hooked it up to the cable box but, it will not play my dvds help

Our Sony DVD player will only play in black and white. There is no manual included, difficult to trouble shoot. Anyone have any advice?

It works, cheaply made, disks have a habit of imbalance and wobble.

Using a new DVD, the machine frequently fails to properly load the disc, then, if it does, plays OK for a while, then stops and skips. Tried the DVD in two other machines and it worked perfectly. Best Buy wouldn't take it back because I'd bought it 27 days ago. Have to deal with Sony.

This player was an online "open box" purchase. Delivery to my home was timely and efficient. However, it was not working. I am a senior with no car, but the next day I took two buses and returned it and bought a new machine. The new machine isn't perfect either, but I'm using it.

I just bought this unit and it was delivered in two days, which was great. But upon hooking it up, I could never get the drawer to open with or without the remote. It's on the way back and hopefully, I'll see a credit to my account soon. I didn't want to take a chance on replacing it with the same unit and ending up with the same problem.

Well, with positive reviews here, despite the low price, I figured it was still a SONY. Unfortunately, I disconnected my old DVD player (no HDMI) and set this one up, batteries in the remote and nothing. Tried in other outlets and it’s dead. I’m sure they’ll try and give me another but I’ll chalk this up to “ You get what you pay for.”

after less than a dozen uses, the belt which operates the open/close of the tray broke. I replaced it with a rubber band, and it "kind of" works now. This is a very cheaply made product. Did I say it was a very cheaply made product? Well, it is.

Didnt recieve item through delivery. I don't recommed this item.

Player stopped communicating with remote after a month. Even multiple sets of new batteries in the remote didn't cure the problem. So now I can only watch DVDs that don't require using the menu. Bummed.

Theres practically NO REASON TO PURCHASE this item. ALL Flatscreen/HDTV & BLURAY player will UPCONVERT DVDs to HD AUTOMATICALLY so there is no reason to purchase this! Either get a cheaper dvd player or a bluray player :)

The item was received defective; does not work since hooked up; I also tried to use it on two different TV's; The TV's did not recognize that a DVD is loaded. Also, no customer service phone number was provided to request technical support.

Never worked again after one use. No color and keeps shutting off video while audio continues. Too bad I didn't buy extended service. I expect a product to perform as advertised. No more Sony for me.

This item did not play my DVD's. I purchased another Sony from Amazon which worked.

OK purchase not the best from Best Buy. Will look at reviews bettter next time
