DVD player worked well. It was a little touchy in that if the DVD had a little dust it would say " DVD dirty". I would wipe it off and reload and then it was ok.

I have purchased the Philips DVD player with HDMI out, but a couple of those have died. So far, the Sony hasn't.

It has HDMI output, but even upscaled don't expect too much from the DVD format. There's no display on the player itself, so all information is done via the onscreen menus.

Thats the truth. It does not have a on off light. Would be very nice. Used it only once so far. Again a very very basic unit.
