When this "new" one arrived I realized it was the exact same model. I decided that this was kind of comforting - i.e. that SONY hadn't "replaced" it. How often is that true these days - that you can buy the exact same thing years later? So, this review is really of the "old" unit. It worked mostly fine until the servo that spins the disc started to get balky. It did not track DVDs as well as the drive in my computers. For the price, it's hard to complain.
