You have to control it with the remote as there are very few controls on the device itself. It's slow to respond when powering on. It does work well as a player other than that.

My previous dvd player was a Sony- I got it 19 years ago and it stll works great, but I just updated my TV and the old dvd player did not interact with it so I had to update my dvd player. I would defnitely recommend the Sony dvd player to anyone!

This was a great choice, it was super easy to hook up and set up and so far works great. It was a bit more expensive than the basic players but I didn't want to have to use multiple converters and wires to use the old player (which a Best Buy rep told us could be done if we wanted to use it)
