However, it was not working. I am a senior with no car, but the next day I took two buses and returned it and bought a new machine. The new machine isn't perfect either, but I'm using it.

Tried the DVD in two other machines and it worked perfectly. Best Buy wouldn't take it back because I'd bought it 27 days ago. Have to deal with Sony.

But upon hooking it up, I could never get the drawer to open with or without the remote. It's on the way back and hopefully, I'll see a credit to my account soon. I didn't want to take a chance on replacing it with the same unit and ending up with the same problem.

Unfortunately, I disconnected my old DVD player (no HDMI) and set this one up, batteries in the remote and nothing. Tried in other outlets and it’s dead. I’m sure they’ll try and give me another but I’ll chalk this up to “ You get what you pay for.”

I replaced it with a rubber band, and it "kind of" works now. This is a very cheaply made product. Did I say it was a very cheaply made product? Well, it is.

Please try to remove the batteries of the remote and press every button available on the remote twice one by one. Then install the batteries again and try controlling the player. Thanks. >Joffrey

ALL Flatscreen/HDTV & BLURAY player will UPCONVERT DVDs to HD AUTOMATICALLY so there is no reason to purchase this! Either get a cheaper dvd player or a bluray player :)

Buttons on remote are flimsy. No capability (at least none I have found) to repeat playing CD continuously. Instructions are hard to understand. Drawbacks are not serious enough to return player, but probably would consider alternatives if buying another one.

Why can't BestBuy.com notify you or ask you if you need the cord on check out? Other websites do that!
