a bit pricey but excellent quality. Good optics and high performance. Make sure to use the focus limiter if you are mostly shooting close or distant subjects. The aF is excellent and fast with recent generation bodies. The lone exception is if you get it stuck hunting from minimum focus distance to something distant

I read all the reviews and it turns out it a great lens. Super sharp at 4.5, sharp corner to corner from f8 to f16. Many of the reviews have said it's a heavy lens, yes but fine on a monopod. Works great with the AR7 IV for animal and bird photography.

One of Sony's best. Versatile and sharp, mates perfectly with both the A7III an A7RIV. Images are clean, contrasty with great color. Much lighter and more compact than the equivalent model I use to own when I was invested in the Canon DSLR system.

I was hesitant on buying this lens. It does a great job zooming in. I like to photograph animals and now I can get great pictures without getting too close.

I bought this lens to pair with my Sony a6500, and after taking it on an all-day excursion to photograph wildlife and birds, I’m in awe of the image quality. The autofocus is almost instantaneous, and especially impressive when shooting birds in flight. This lens is allowing me to take my photography to another level.

Fantastic glass! Tracking speed is better than I had expected (and I expected a lot), plenty of reach and yet it’s still manageable shooting handheld!

I love my new 100-400mm zoom for surf photography. The reach is perfect and the lense is light enough to carry all day and shoot handheld or with a tripod. Great addition to my kit.

This lens is a remarkably useful addition to your photographic equipment! And as I've found in my experience with the G Master line, the clarity and precision are incredible. A versatile lens that is great for shooting birds and critters from a distance, yet can still get up close and get some impressive results. Relatively light and compact for a lens that has this kind of range, this is a five star all the way in my book!

This is the best mid range telephoto lens I've ever owned. Unbelievable clarity when hooked up to my a7r3. Focus is very fast even in low light.

I'm very impressed with this lens along with the Sony A6000. The image quality is amazing. If you're considering doing wildlife photography, this lens is outstanding

This lens it’s tack sharp! Live the fact that I can carry this lens while hiking looking for wildlife. I can hand hold the lens and the images still come sharp. I also use it for landscapes and it’s fantastic. I have no complains about it. I shoot with the a7R III - a7R IV and a9 and it work great with all my cameras.

This lens is excellent! Better than the Canon equivalent which I have also used. Sharp throughout range and focuses very quickly. Highly recommend!!

Not a bad lens, use mine for videos, wish it would keep up with the focus better as I zoom in or out but that may be from the camera more than the lens

Sony G Master this lense is one of the best money can buy solid strong never had an issue and amazing photos with this lense it says up load an image but my images are so good I do not want to down size my image to laod the images are too good and would not give the justice to view in the settings the settings requested for this review

This lens is a beast. It is the largest in the E-mount line up and it is super sharp. The AF is so quiet you can’t hear it. The OSS is very good. With less then 4 ft focus range it has a good macro ability when shooting at 400mm. Using it on a mono pod works very well when needing to steady it at full zoom.

Great lens. I ha e tried a few others for bird photography, but this one is the one I liked most. 600mm would of been noce but this will do.

I had just purchased the 200-600, so I was shocked and overly happy at the weight of this lens. Can easily hold without need of tripod, gimbal, beanbag, etc. Features as always with Sony lenses are good.

Great lens just the price is high. The picture quality is great.
