I couldn’t believe it at first but this is a step in the right direction for Sony. It’s incredible how the extra 4 mm on the wide end makes this lens much more versatile. This lens is easily the best for every day use, it’s super light in the 20-70mm range is so much more satisfying than your typical 24-70mm. It makes me wonder why it’s taken anyone this long to do it in the first place. Personally, as a street photographer, it always comes down to the smallest, lighted test and fastest equipment. This lens checks off all 3 boxes. 20-35mm is a favorite focal length for a large group of photographers but we’ve always had to settle for an 18-55, leaving me to always wish i had a little bit more reach out in the city. 24mm is just never wide enough for busy places. I know everyone reading this review knows the struggle. Well I am here to say struggle no more, this 20-70mm is the answer to photographers around the world. Finally a daily lightweight G lens that just makes sense.
