The big win here is the lighter weight: at around 695 grams, it’s about 20% lighter than the previous version, making a major difference for all-day use or travel.

Best and most versatile lens on the Market

This lens is your go to when you need to capture all sorts of high quality run and gun content without having to switch lenses. If I had just one lens in my bag it would be this one. It is the most expensive lens I have ever purchased by many magnitudes, and I am using it on the most expensive camera I have ever purchased (the Sony A7 IV purchased from BB). That said, my impression after four days is simple: magic. This lens is so versatile, the images so sharp, at all magnifications, even out to the edges, and colors jump off the page. I can't believe I'm generating these gorgeous images; it's just magic. I happened to be in a position when I could splurge and treat myself to such an expensive canera lens, and I am totally pleased. I know I will learn a lot more on how best to use this lens, and will grow with this lens and camera, but the results so far have exceeded my expectations. Sony knocked it out of the park. Yes, you pay a high price for this lens, but the money has been well spent.

Great all around lens

But if conditions are not perfect, I feel like it lacks.And that's where prime lenses are great but this is a great lens, I would not steer anyone away from it!

Perfect for Video.

Zoom lenses have always just been to big and apature/sharpness were sacrafised. This lens however has not came off my camera body. It has saved me time without compromising quality! Its expensive for a reason sony did great! Buy nice or buy twice.
