Love this lens but not as sharp as Sony primes. Don’t let the new generations price tag fool you! It’s a fabulous lens for an all in one and definitely worth the spend if that is what you are looking for.

The images are sharp! I am more of a nature photographer and find that this lens really captures the moment. With everything being accessible on the lens within fingers length it makes it a very user friendly lens.

I recently took this lens, paired with my sony A7IV to NYC and got some beautiful results. i would highlt recommend this lens as your one lens if thats all yoy have room for

I absolutely love this lens! The Sony 24 to 70mm F2.8 GM II has quickly become one of my favorite lenses. The image quality is beautiful, photos are incredibly sharp, colors look great, and the F2.8 aperture is perfect for creating beautiful portraits and shooting in different lighting situations. I especially love the 24 to 70mm range because it is so versatile. I can capture wider shots and then quickly zoom in for closer portraits without having to constantly switch lenses. The autofocus is fast and reliable, which is so helpful when photographing families and capturing moments that happen quickly. I also love how lightweight and comfortable it feels for such a high quality professional lens. It is definitely an investment, but the quality and versatility have made it completely worth it for me. This is a lens I reach for all the time and would absolutely recommend!

As a Canon Photographer, I actually like this Lens a lot. Lots of great features and quick buttons that are useful. Quality is as good as expected. Easy to use and accurate face tracking works well with my a7v

Even wide open at f/2.8, images are crisp across the frame with beautiful contrast and natural color. Whether I’m shooting at 24mm for landscapes or 70mm for tight portraits, detail remains consistently impressive. Autofocus is fast, smooth, and reliable — it locks accurately even in challenging lighting and during video recording. I use Sony’s Eye AF regularly, and it keeps focus exactly where I want it, which improves my keep rate dramatically. The zoom range is perfect for general use. I can walk around all day without changing lenses — from candid street photos to environmental portraits and even low-light situations. The build quality feels solid and professional, with weather sealing that gives confidence when shooting outdoors. The build quality of the GM II is simply outstanding – it feels solid yet surprisingly lightweight. The autofocus is lightning fast and the sharpness is impeccable, even wide open at f/2.8. It is the perfect workhorse for my studio, delivering professional results every time. Definitely worth the investment for anyone looking for top-tier glass. Beautiful lens that delivers incredibly sharp images across the entire zoom range. You can feel the quality the moment you hold it – solid build and smoothly operating focus and zoom rings. Also very well-suited for handheld shooting. The only downside is the lack of built-in image stabilization. Other than that, nothing but praise.

The Sony 24-70mm F2.8 GM II lens is truly impressive—images are crystal clear, and the fast F2.8 aperture really helps when shooting in low light or creating beautiful background blur. The big win here is the lighter weight: at around 695 grams, it’s about 20% lighter than the previous version, making a major difference for all-day use or travel.

I absolutely love the Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II. If I could only have one lens on my camera for a wide variety of shooting situations, this would easily be one of my first choices. The first thing that impressed me was the sharpness. This lens is tack sharp. Images have incredible detail and contrast, and even when shooting wide open at f/2.8, the results are fantastic. When I nail focus, the level of detail this lens produces continues to impress me. The 24-70mm focal range is also incredibly versatile. I can shoot wider environmental shots at 24mm, quickly move into a more natural perspective around 35-50mm, and then get tighter shots at 70mm without changing lenses. For sports, events, portraits, video, and general photography, that flexibility is extremely valuable. Autofocus performance has also been excellent. It's fast, accurate, and responsive, which is especially important for the sports work I do. When the action is moving quickly, I need to trust that my lens can keep up with the camera, and the GM II has given me that confidence. The constant f/2.8 aperture is another major advantage. It gives me significantly more flexibility when the lighting gets difficult while also providing beautiful subject separation and background blur. For indoor sports, events, and lower-light situations, having f/2.8 available throughout the zoom range makes a big difference. I also appreciate how relatively compact and lightweight Sony made the GM II considering the image quality and performance you're getting. It's a professional 24-70mm f/2.8 that doesn't feel unnecessarily large or cumbersome, which matters when I'm carrying a camera for hours or using it on a gimbal. For video, it's just as impressive. The combination of excellent autofocus, sharpness, f/2.8 aperture, and the versatile focal range makes it a lens I can comfortably use for everything from establishing shots to tighter detail shots. Is it inexpensive? Definitely not. But this is one of those lenses where I can actually see where the money went. The optical quality, autofocus performance, build quality, size, and versatility are outstanding. The Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II has become one of those lenses that I simply trust. Whether I'm shooting photos or video, I know I'm going to get excellent results. 5/5 — tack sharp, incredibly versatile, and easily one of my favorite lenses.
