    This is a good lens if its your first prime lens. The autofocus is not the best but gets the job done. Its comparatively lite and easy to carry. Just keep in mind that this is not a APS-C lens so you should consider the crop factor and you wouldnt exactly get 50mm.

    Make no mistake, you can capture some wonderful photos with this lens, but even in minimal low light, it will hunt like crazy and you'll probably have to go to manual focus. This lens is very situational. It's good for portraiture, landscapes and anything that doesn't require you to be fast, but I wouldn't use it for events, sports or wildlife.

    Great lens for the price. Autofocus is slower than I'd like but nothing too bad. Af noise is definitely noticable so can't say it's the best for video. Otherwise, great bang for your buck.

    Slow autofocus, noisy, not very sharp. I would look at either a sigma art lens or wait for another 50 from Sony. Good for price though. Just had too many issues for me.

    This little lens is worth the money. It does what I need. I use DMF on my cameras so the speed of autofocus is not an issue for me.
