Amazing lens it’s good for beginners and just amazing in general for pictures and everything.

Like most other reviews, this lens is good for the price (on sale price). The focus speed is not quite there, it's loud, and it won't produce G Master quality images. However, it would be hard to find such full-frame fast lens at this price point.

Nothing like a fixed lense to test your skills. Love the size. Especially when shooting street photography. Light weight. Sharper images than the standard your Sony a 7 may bring. Highly recommend

Purchased for portrait photos and the lens itself is excellent. Did not work for our application due to inability to zoom but that takes nothing away from the quality of the lens.

Happy with this lens!!! It’s my first time purchasing a camera and include this for more shot options.

If you use this lens for astrophotography you will notice quite a bit of vignetting in full frame mode(A7RII), even with the lens corrections enabled. I prefer shooting the night sky in crop mode. Still a very sharp lens for the cost. Even works great for video at night.

As many others stated it has a noisy auto focus, but pictures are stunning for the price compared to other lenses. Wouldn’t use for video where you are recording audio from the camera due to focus motor being quite loud.

Amazing lens! My friend introduced this lens to me and I’m glad I made the purchase. Pictures came out as expected. I have Been using this lens more than my other lens. Will recommend this to friends and family for sure!

I bought the Sony FE50mm f/1.8 lens to go with my new Sony a7rii camera that I purchased from Best Buy. The camera was body only and after spending so much for the camera I didn't have a lot left over for a lens but wanted something to try out the new camera. This is a fixed focal length lens with no zoom. I knew this going in but I'm just not all that happy with the quality of the photos taken with the lens. I am a newbie at photography though and I have gotten a few good pictures with it but overall I'm not that impressed. At the same time for the price (this is the cheapest lens Sony makes I believe) its ok just not great. But I mean this lens is $250 and not $2,500 so I wouldn't expect it to be great. I plan to purchase more lenses in the future so it's not like this will be the one and only lens I will use so its not a big deal.

This lens is great for just quick everyday photos. Very sharp.

Great basic lens for the beginner as well as the pro. Smooth and sharp autofocus from this f/1.8 prime lens. A must have in any Sony Alpha user's arsenal.

Best first lens I have ever purchased for my Sony A6000

Purchased this lens because it is the cheapest lens in the Sony Full frame ecosystem. Kindve pricey for a nifty fifty and very slow AF speed but produces a decent image for its price. Will later replace with the zeiss 55mm F/1.8 or sigma art 50mm

Great first lens for me. As a value/ budget prime lens it works great for my needs. I’m not a pro just a person who likes taking pictures of family and travel

It’s the perfect travel and walk-around lens, ideal when larger glass seems intrusive or feels too bulky, and gives excellent performance, especially when its price tag is taken into account.

50mm is a good lens for capturing that Bocca affect. The subject is super detailed while blur makes you concentrate on subject. Too close though will make auto focus little trippy.

This is a good starting option. If you are a professional then you will see some limitations like focus speed, but for a beginner this is more than enough. Incredible photos.

I purchased this lens to use for video interviews. I love it. It took me a little while to get used to a fixed lens but after this purchase, I am looking at another focal length fixed zoom lens.

It's true what they say about this lens slow autofocus. Especially when I'm in a dimmer and darker setting, it tends to struggle a bit. Even so, I still enjoy using this lens. It's depth of field is nice at 1.8 and it's great for portraits. For the price too, I guess it's not bad.
