For some people this lens may fit their needs and budget - but I simply cannot recommend it. I’ve had my hands on almost every lens Sony has made for their mirrorless systems, and this lens in particular is a tricky one. I gave this two stars simply due to the autofocus. It is extremely slow, loud, and inaccurate when not in perfect conditions. It’s truly awful. Not to mention that the lens actually extends a minor amount in the focusing process. The image quality is great - it has a stellar aperture - and the price speaks for itself.. but I simply cannot recommend it due to the focus motors.

Everyone needs a nifty fifty and this is one is pretty good for the price. It isn't the quietest but it's good quality and focuses fast since it is a native Sony lens. For $200, it's a great lens to start off.

This lens never leaves my camera. Its an excellent all around prime lens and can handle wide shots, landscapes, as well as provde good bokeh on subjects close up

Great Lens! For an APSC camera user, this makes a great mid-telephoto lens for theater and dance photography. Good quality, great low light performance and quick focus.

Amazing lens for any Sony camera. I have a pretty old sony a5100 and since purchasing this lens my pictures have been 10x better. No need for a new camera now.

As a photographer and cinematographer I tried this lens for a good budget lens in a hurry. Needless to say the performance of this lens exceeded my expectations for the price, however the autofocus motor is a little loud for video work.

not very good autofocus for the price also very noisy and slow. If you are looking for a 50 mm stick with canon

I have always best wanted to purchase lenses. The Sony 50mm 1.8 is amazing lenses to have and especially if you are into doing portraits it's the best by far. It gets the job done.

Great camera lense, I got mines as a open box and scored big time at great price. I would definitely recommend this to everyone who is looking for a great lense.

Nice lens it is very fast and sharp. Easily fit and it’s specifically for the Fullframe. You do have to be careful on how close you get or it will hunt.

I found myself using this lens the most, easy to use! The only thing was that the lens good keep on coming off easily but overall very good!

Bargain 50 mm prime a plus! For the money you certainly can’t beat this lens it produces wonderful background Bloor no need to use the flash great price at Best Buy

This is one of my favorite lenses. I use this one especially when doing portraits of my grandson. Does a beautiful job.

We use this with an A6400 for video podcasts. Nice 1.8 aperture for great low light performance. Price is excellent for the feature set.

Impressive lens, great bokeh, crisp and clean. All the things you want in a fast prime lens. Great value for the price.

Bought this lens at an excellent price. The quality of the photos are outstanding and having an F Stop of 1.8 really gives that focus I need with the pictures I take.

This is a great lens for beginners and pros alike! The photos are super sharp, even wide open. Great DOF and great value for the cost.

I like the focal length but the autofocus is slow and the pics are ok. I think this would be a great starter lens. I'll have to save my money for the 1.2. this will do the trick for now

Needed an fixed frame everyday glass to capture in low light. I am not disappointed, this takes amazing night shots, even for someone new to photography!
