Good bokeh, good price. Its a really good beginner friendly camera

The item is really nice, i purchased it for my hobbies for more to learn in photography industry. I recommend this product really good use in the night photography, which help to have more details in terms of high mega pixels especially in the night, it does work great in day too, but I bought it because for night shoot.

I just bought an A7III and needed at least one native, full frame (non-adapted) lens. A 50mm focal length is prob the first choice for most ppl. It’s relatively fast for an inexpensive Full Frame prime @ f1.8, provides edge to edge sharpness in the image, is lightweight and supports Manual Focus, Auto Focus and in camera iris control. Build quality is good. The next step up in a FE prime from Sony is the G class and that’s around $1300, so this is a bargain for amateur / hobby use. Comes with a removable / reversible shade. Highly Recommend!

Great lens. I'm on year 2 and this bad boy has made me a bunch of money, praise the Lord. Definitely get this lens if you're a new photographer and DONT get the kit lens. Just start with this.

For the money you can’t beat it! It takes decent pictures, the bokeh is nice. I’ve heard that the focus motor is loud in some videos but I never had an issue with it on mine. It’s a very light lens. It’s the least expensive prime lens for the Sony full frame format cameras. On sale they are under $200.00 and for that price, why not get a 50mm 1.8 especially if all you have is the kit lens.

I should start with saying that I am not an ardent photographer. A6300 was my second serious camera purchase. This is my go-to lens at the moment. The photos are crisp and it doesn't dent your budget. I don't think there is image stabilization so you need really steady hands in low light or get a tripod. Sometimes I have seen that AF takes time and keeps on focussing on some other thing than what you want it to focus on.

Such an incredible lens! I use it on my Sony A7iii and I love it! You really can't go wrong with a 50mm as it is an essential for any photographer! I've been able to capture some amazing moments with this lens and can't wait to keep shooting. I can't wait to grow my Sony lens collection! A great lens for the price, I was looking for a cheap 50mm as an extra lens. I used it couple of times and I got a lot of compliments on the results.

There’s a reason everyone recommends a 50mm lens. I use this all the time especially in low light. Perfect lens and not too expensive. I did get an open box (excellent condition), which saved me a little bit of $$. HIGHLY recommend!

So far, my experience with this lens has mainly been positive. I have taken good photographs with it (even at higher ISOs), and it is light and portable. My only issue with this lens would be its accuracy when it comes to auto focusing. It could just be me (I am accustomed to focusing manually.), but the lens does not always handle auto focusing well when using an aperture at or around f/2.8. In my initial purchase of the Sony a6000, I was only going to use it's stock lens, but after experimenting with this portrait lens, it definitely gave me what i was looking for. The quality of shots along with the blurry background effect was exactly what my wife and I loved. This lens does that for you. Unfortunately it does not have zoom capabilities but reaches pretty good distance.
