    This lens is very very good put personally I would take the hit and get the 18-105mm which will be way more versatile. But I don’t want my opinion to discredit how great of a lens it is cause it’s a really good lens. I would say bang for buck.

    I got myself a new camera with Sony A7ii and since it comes with standard lens i figured to buy this Prime lens with $100 off the price. I was so happy I bought it because it gives me best potrait pictures and you don't have to zoom it to get your main focus.

  • Great low light capability

    I use this to shoot video of the night sky -- stars, etc. Amazing low light capability. I use it in manual focus mode only, so I cannot comment on the auto focus. Video and stills of the night sky are amazing.

    Great basic lens for the beginner as well as the pro. Smooth and sharp autofocus from this f/1.8 prime lens. A must have in any Sony Alpha user's arsenal.

    Like most other reviews, this lens is good for the price (on sale price). The focus speed is not quite there, it's loud, and it won't produce G Master quality images. However, it would be hard to find such full-frame fast lens at this price point.
