Customers are saying

Customers regard the FE 50mm f/1.8 Prime Lens for Sony Alpha E-mount Cameras highly for its image quality, affordable price, ease of use, low light performance, and compact size and weight. However, some customers have expressed concerns about the autofocus speed and the level of noise it produces. Overall, the lens seems to be well-received for its optical qualities and user-friendliness.

Im not an expert... I just bought my first nice camera with the Sony a6000... To me it takes a great picture... I love the focus on the subject of the image, and the blurred background... It really makes the picture look professional.

Not worth it. Image quality is definitely poor. Cheap price=cheap quality

In the end I'd recommend going with the 55mm lens used or open box. The 50mm 1.4 is a good option as well, but expensive. The 55mm 1.8 has Zeiss optics and can be had for 700-800 dollars open box. Keep an eye out and get a quality lens.

This lens has been a great addition to my mirror less camera. I take a lot of product photos and this lens has been awesome. I am still needing to expand the use to portrait photos but I can't wait for the opportunity

Its a good lens for a starter, but if you are carrying your camera around daily I would pay more and go with a higher quality lens. Slow focus and noisy. I purchased the 35mm zeiss and I am happier

It’s a great little lens for those outings when you need a light little lens you don’t mind getting a little wear on. Take it hiking or around town, It’ll get you solid results as long as you don’t mind a little chromatic aberration here and there.

It did great for a portrait I did of my daughter, nice and sharp subjuct with soft bokeh (background) nothing that was jaw dropping amazing but I was very pleased with every shot straight out of the camera

Not bad for being a 250 lens. I would say is fun. Eye view is good and for some portrait is decent.

Instead of buying a kit. It was recommended to buy the body and prime lens instead. Stubbornly I went an bought the kit lens and Best Buy was right. I didn't need it, the prime lens will be my main lens

Its a Nifty Fifty f1.8, what else is there to say? I needed a AF 50mm for events. It solid, seems to have pretty decent bokeh for Xmas lights

Great depth of field - boca on it looks amazing in photos while giving you the same feel for video. Fast auto focus and at the price, can’t get anything better at this length.

This lens was all I wanted and then some. The 1.8 f-stop gave me some great images. I'm looking to expand my inventory as I expand my knowledge so this lens seemed like a great step!

The bokeh and clarity of this lens is awesome!! It is a 50mm so keep them in mind when purchasing. Great for targets at a distance. Get the 30mm if you want a greater FOV or closer targets.

The lens for the price sacrifices the speed of the 55mm bigger brother but it's still clear with okay enough bokah. Would recommend as a everyday carry/starter lens until you outgrow it.

Was my first lens I got with my A7RIII and I still love it! And take beautiful pictures for the price! Focus is a little hesitant on it I will mention is the only downfall but it still works great.

I used this lens at a banquet where the lights were dimmed. The 1.8 aperture allowed me to take some photos without a flash. Also, I had more depth of field flexibility when I used the external flash.

This is my first prime, which takes clear and blurred background shots. Great indoors and out doors to get my hobby photos.

I purchased this lens less than 1 month ago at Bestbuy as a new brand lens, the box it came into was that of a refurbished box, the back cover for this lens was grey and the lens itself is black. Due to Covid 19 I had traveled almost 1 hour to the only Best Buy location that had it in stock, it was curb side pickup. The first time I used the lens it was blurry in the background which was good. The second time I used the lens it no longer blurs the background at all. I would like my money back and don’t want to have to pay restocking fee. I paid almost $400 in total for this lens.

I was recommended to start with a 50mm lense to learn and this works. I would rather have gotten a nice 24-70mm lense off the start, but having a 1.8f stop is always fun!
