I had low expectations and was still disappointed

I don’t think you can even use Sony’s eye-af with this lens. The focus is also so so so spotty and what I mean by that is, I will use AF and it will beep as if the subject is in focus but when I pull up the photos in LR or PS they’re actually wildly out of focus. The focus you do get with this lens is very soft. If you like texture, details, or crisp images I don’t think you should get this. The amount of photos I’ve had to trash because I used this lens is kinda ridiculous. It’s also SO loud. Let’s say you sit your camera down to do something. It’s going to try to focus on whatever is in frame in front of it. Imagine how awkward it is to hear this lens humming and buzzing because it’s trying to focus. I don’t use it for video but if I did I would be even more disappointed cause that focus is LOUD and constant

I have to return this lens back because the focus motor buzzes away moving the focus back and forth without regard that things are fine and then they are not. If you freeze, it might settle down, and if you twitch anything, it is back to buzz-shift-buzz-shift. This is an annoying inconvenience.

I'm not certain what some reviewers are doing, but focus with this lens on my a6000, was very good and spot on. I shot outside in full sun, indoors, with both natural and artificial light, outside during the golden hour, blue hour, and after astronomical twilight. Focus was as I expected it to be, fast and accurate. At $199 this lens is a good buy, get it, get out and shoot, and enjoy!

OMG worst focus ever. slowest focusing lens on earth. I changed settings 10 times and it was still super slow. I hope they can improve this. I'm shooting with an A7 which I did the latest firmware update on 9/29/16 . the lens was still super slow. Loved the images but i can manual focus faster.
