A little on the expensive side but worth every penny. Lighter than its predecessor and the internal zoom makes it very practical.

It is very sharp across the zoom range and offers a fast and accurate auto focus. This lens is at the top of its class of other lens manufacturers.

My main uses are sports and travel photography. Overall, the optical quality of the Sony 70-200mm GM is ok, but GMII’s images appear to have higher contrast. I did feel GM lens a bit heavy and the focusing speed less than satisfactory. For this reason, I ended up buying a Sony 70-200mm GMII in Best Buy. While GMII is priced $800 higher than older GM lens, I think it's worth it after comparing them for more than a month.

70-200 F2.8 Zoom, expensive but worth the price

I can't really add any more than what has already been said - it is light, super fast (I use it on my a7iv) and super sharp. The bokeh is gorgeous. I use it for both sports and portraits - and recently took it to the zoo... It is such a pleasure to shoot with this - it's expensive, but you will not regret it!
