    I just bought this lens today and it was a little late when I got home to try this out but was very pleased with the lens. I don't think it's heavy for the range at all. I do recommend.

    I love the range of distance with this lens. It gets me close enough to the animals, birds and people I'm taking photos of, plus the apperature can be adjusted to the right amounts of blur or clarity i need.

    I bought this lens to shoot across soccer fields to capture photos of my daughters games and it didn’t disappoint. Great clarity at good distance. Really maximized my Alpha 6000 camera.

      Yes, the SEL70300G lens is also a good start up lens. But with its features like the built-in optical steady shot ang renowned G Lens Bokeh, this could also be one of those lenses that you would want to stay in your collection.
